Reviews

caa821 A lot of previous comments here were made sometime ago - during the program's initial year. I would simply add to those who feel it's about the funniest thing on the tube - I agree! Its times of airing seem to move a lot, and I've often caught it "hit-or-miss." But when the channel on occasion will run several episodes back-to-back, and I have the opportunity to see (or tape) them - I still find them funny and throughly entertaining. The combination of scripted and (largely) improvised stories and situations make it a better show than if it relied upon one of these techniques exclusively. These are a funny and diverse cast of regulars, and the guest actors have all been hilarious, as well.I also agree with some of the comments here which mention the fact that the "Comedy" channel has often fallen short of living up to its name. However, they hit the mark with this one.
Katie Marie (meboja) Reno 911 is one of the best shows on television. It doesn't take itself too seriously, yet maintains a level of professionalism. The characters are cliches, but they are funny without going into that factor. The relationships are key in this show and shine when they are interviewed together. The show cares for the characters, but not so much as to guard them from harm. The perps are also very funny. Michael Ian Black was awesome as the sex offender and the Truckee Strangler was terrifically deadpan. The prostitution man is a delight and Terry can Xanadu it any time. Dangle is the strongest character, but I wish that the others were given a bigger chunk of screentime.
caspian1978 Members from the original MTV comedy show The State that went on to star in the very forgettable series on Comedy Central called Viva Variety return to once again try to make the audience laugh with Reno 911. At times, the series in funny as it manages to hold itself up with one line jokes and rude and at sometime crude humor with crap and fart jokes. Still, when there is nothing else better to watch, Comedy Central always comes through with series like Reno 911 to make you smile. I hope for the series to get better as oppose to it getting worse and disappearing without any hopes of coming back or going to DVD. Most of the cast are funny stand up or stage comedians. While the script falls short on many occasions, the cast remains strong.
Capt. Spastic This show has the look and feel of Cops! The comedians that carry off the show, do it so dead panned, you actually can think for a half of a second that they ARE serious. This is a great show, with a wonderful premise. Check it out, you will laugh.
