adonis98-743-186503 A group of teenage friends and their Great Dane (Scooby-Doo) travel in a bright green van solving strange and hilarious mysteries, while returning from or going to a regular teenage function. For a 1969-1970 TV show for kids this version of Scooby-Doo is easily one of the best shows of that time with a lot of fun and adventure but of course a lot of clues that you will love all the characters are interesting and most of the ghosts or in this case villains were really good also the title song of the show was really good and memorable and i still love it to this day. I'll give "Scooby Doo, Where Are You!" (1969) an 10 out of 10.
shadowymoon8 I grew up on Scooby Doo (admittedly the same few episodes played again and again on VHS), and it certainly had an impact on my life when I was younger - it inspired my curiosity about the world and helped me be a little less afraid of the dark. It's a classic show that nearly everyone knows, and as I'm re-watching it now, it's so wonderfully simple and entertaining, and I remember why I love it so much. I can see why it's a franchise that's survived the ages. The intro song in particular is one of my favourite parts - it's so catchy! The cartoon style is classic and apart from a few small errors here and there, is beautifully animated. The details in the background are also amazing - they provide a hint of realism to the more cartoonish style.Basically, I love Scooby Doo and the original series is probably my favourite simply because of nostalgia.
Chris12955 I will not pretend that Scooby Doo, Where are You! is high art, or the greatest animated series ever; however, there is a reason this is a classic and so fondly remembered. This hits so many strong points, from the eerie music, the oppressive yet whimsical tone, and the creepy and sometimes scary villains. Perhaps the most daring has to be the choice of such a dark color scheme(especially for 1969.) All this contributes to the wonderful mood that permeates Scooby Doo. It is a shame that many future Scooby Doo series could not equal the magic that was there in 1969, because they got so much right. The first season is by far the best, but do not knock the second, both are great. The Gang(Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, Fred, and of course Scooby Doo) travel around in their van(The Mystery Machine) and investigate seemingly supernatural events. This allows each episode to have it's own spooky locale with a wacky spin on the horror genre. Primarily Shaggy and Scooby Doo are the main focus of the show, acting as comic relief to the goings on. Lastly by encouraging critical thinking, having rational explanations, and showing them confronting their fears teaches good lessons to children, who are the target audience. Not that adults can't absolutely love this show, as the superb mix of comedy, mystery, horror, and atmosphere all make this a great cartoon for all ages!If you liked this show and wanted more Scooby shows, I recommend, The New Scooby-Doo Movies, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, What's New, Scooby-Doo?, and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. They are all a little different, but are about as good if not better.
Julia Arsenault (ja_kitty_71) Scooby Doo's my favorite Hanna/Barbera character along side with Tom & Jerry and Penelope Pitstop. You know, Scooby became so popular that they made spin-offs TV series and movies. But I strongly stick to this show. And there is only one spin-off series I love and it's "The Scooby Doo Show" from 1978, the other spin-offs kind of SUCKS! My favorite "ghosts" are from this series: · The Black Knight from the first episode "What a Night for a Knight," · The Phantom of the Puppet Theater from "The Backstage Rage," · The Witch of Swamp's End from "Which Witch is Which," I am really in witches, and... · The ghost of Zen-Tuo from "Mystery Mask Mix-Up".So overall, I really think this is the best version of Scooby Doo ever; the original is always the best to me!
