Auditions & Karaoke Battle

It's an all-new ICCA season, and a cappella teams across the country are looking for new talent to help them make it to The Finals in New York City. This season, we follow two rivalries: at UMass Amherst, sassy all-female S#arp Attitude is on the hunt to replace their beat boxer who left them for their cross-campus rivals, The Hexachords. At the University of Maryland, reigning regional champs Faux Paz is looking more like "Bro Paz." With only one returning female member, this mixed group desperately needs to add female voices. At their regional rival's campus, UPENN's Off the Beat auditions guys for a coveted solo in their set. Competition is so steep in the Mid Atlantic that the two teams can't wait to size each other up, so they challenge each other to a not-so-friendly karaoke battle as a pre-amble to the ICCA season.

cristscu If you like Acapella and want to better understand what it takes to get to the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate Acapella) finals, this is by far the best show in town. I found it even better than Pitch Perfect, because it is about real people and real groups. Some may be disappointing there is not enough singing in the show. But you can find complete performances and well beyond on you-tube. This is not an American Idol show, it's more like a documentary. But you'll be touched by the friendship within the five groups followed. To try to be the best means you have to think you're the best and try to achieve this status. It takes huge effort, patience, hours of training. With no other reward than a shiny trophy and the feeling you walked the way. But for only one team.Just enjoy it and don't get too critical, this is reality show at its best. It has some of the best ingredients: friendship, music and dance, competition, human touch, pure joy and pure deep sadness.
thepumbasss You guys can say all you want about this show but i honestly loved it.It thought it was really fun at times and really sad at times.i thought that even though there was quite a bit of drama it was still great and among that drama was comedy.I was singing along with everyone in Bang Bang as well.I thought that this was a really fun and super energetic acappela show it was super fun and easy going i was devastated that there wasn't already another season when i had finished the show.i loved mostly all the groups except Pitch'Please but other than that i loved all the groups.i am crossing my fingers for another season!
caitlyncarter As someone who is actually in a Collegiate Acapella group, this is possible the worst representation of what College Acapella is. This shows leader that are cocky and unprofessional .I am to reassure that this is not what we are all like .This is not what we are actually like. It's really heartbreaking to realize that this what our audience will see what they think is what Acapella really is.I really hope that people will not to see this and think " oh , this what Acapella looks like ." , when in real life, that is not true. I was glad when my group decided that we shouldn't haven't signed up , it probably the best idea for us.
benrod-37719 So I settled myself in for what I thought was a competition of groups singing A cappella. To my disappointment, There was barely any singing going on. Not only that but the content of the show doesn't even allow for the word entertainment to be used to describe it. When the singing did come on, it was constantly interrupted by the singers commenting on themselves. Coming from the co-producers of American IDOL, and Academy Award winner John Legend, I expected something better. If you want to see actual singing don't waste your time with this show. If you want to listen to a bunch of college kids bitch about how good they are and how good they think they look. have at it!
