Reviews

ShelbyTMItchell Wished that the show would had lasted long. But due to different days and time slots, ABC seemed to had want to cancel the show. And the suits as ABC did not seem to like a show like this and did it's best to cancel a great show that, is now a cult classic despite lasting two years.William Katt is mild-mannered teacher Bill Hinkley. The late great, Robert Culp is FBI agent-partner, Bill Maxwell, and Connie Selleca now known, as Mrs John Tesh, played Katt's girlfriend later lawyer wife, Pam.These three would be a team that reluctantly, if effectively became a crime fighting team to be reckon with. From UFOs to government conspiracies. It had everything from comedy, action, romance, and a little drama thrown in.If ABC would not had killed the show, which I think it did by moving to different time slots and days, it would had lasted at least five years. But really a cult classic I remember as a child of the 1980s. You don't ever get shows that you think are silly but still, fun to watch. Bring this show back!
gritfrombray-1 I remember this show fondly from the '80s. Saturday afternoons were devoted to it! Incredible Hulk too! Cancelled far too early and forgotten about. Delighted to see it's getting some DVD attention! Got the first season recently and boy, did it take me back! Great cast and humor to boot by the bucket load. Will have to get the rest of the series now I've gotten the first excellent season watched. Watch out for a young Faye Grant(Julie Parrish from V). Am eagerly waiting the proposed movie in the pipeline. Hope they keep it a bit corny and true to the '80s version. Movie re incarnations sometimes detract from the original. Hope that does not happen here!
xallisterx After a short first season, and a full length second season, GAH's problems stemming from a lawsuit with DC comics finally brought enough pressure to convince ABC execs to pull the plug. The Greatest American Hero is one of, if not, the most underrated shows of the 1980's. Slapstick, family friendly humor, and a nod to the comic book crowd. The third and final season DVD collection includes four episodes that were never aired on ABC (the show went to syndication in the early 90's, and FX did in fact air the four episodes) with guest appearances ranging from Andre the Giant, to Bob Saget, and a strong natural chemistry with William Katt, and Connie Selleca, as well as Robert Culp, who once played Kelly Robinson in the series I Spy.GAH is highly recommended, not only for adults who grew up with the series, but also their children, it's a refreshing look back at the more wholesome family entertainment that dominated the 1980's culture.
hcalderon1 I really wish this show was done today, because I just watched it on DVD, and found it incredibly entertaining, and very funny. The story begins with Ralph Hinkley(William Katt) a high school teacher, is lured out in the dessert, comes across FBI Agent Bill Maxwell(Robert Culp) and they are approached by a UFO, and is told they must work together as a team, they give Ralph a suit that has magical powers whenever he wears it. The funny part comes when Ralph loses the instruction book on how to use the suit, he keeps getting in trouble, because he does not use the power too well. But he seems to make the best out of the bad situation. I enjoyed the show, I still wish it was made today.
