craig1615 I've been watching Reed and following and his crew for years, first in the TV series Storm Chasers, now with their new self produced series Tornado Chasers. The Chasers part of the titles is descriptive, but, it does not describe the amount of tornado research that is also accomplished on their chases. The team members are not just thrill seekers they are dedicated researchers, first responders and often the first to warn of a tornado. Both series are excellent. If you like seeing tornadoes and severe weather this is the show for you. His custom Dominator vehicles chase and position themselves to be struck directly by tornadoes. It is quite a rush for the viewer and the Dominator teams. Reed is a very dedicated professional, he will often describe how the tornadoes are forming and how he predicts where the best intercepts will be, he is seldom wrong. Reed uses some of the latest technology from drones to rocket launchers. They also are equipped to give aid to tornado victims and will often be the first people on the scene of a tornado strike. Like I said if you enjoy storms this is very likely the show for you. Reed's website is http://tvnweather.com/ check it out lots to see and read there. As a side note you can see Tim Samaras in the Storm Chasers series, a highly dedicated engineer and storm chaser, who after many years of storm chasing and tornado research was tragically killed along with his son Paul and team member Carl Young chasing a tornado near El Reno Oklahoma. Tim Samaras's Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Samaras
Sarah Penner Reed, Sean, Mike and the team give us a really honest look at what it means to be a storm-chaser. It's not all flash and tornadoes. It's not all excitement and thrills. There is a ton of work that goes into it. Being in the right place at the right time is a lot about work and a bit about luck. If you're looking for a show that is all tornadoes all the time, then you're better off watching Twister or Sharknado. This is reality. As a storm-enthusiast who would love to get into chasing, I really appreciate the reality. The long drives, the hours of waiting, the disappointment of the storm dying and, of course, the thrill of a good chase. I am grateful to these guys who go out and put their lives on the line for others. Of course they enjoy what they do, but they are learning, warning and trying to make storms less dangerous in the future. Not only that, they are out there when disaster strikes and are not afraid of getting their hands dirty to help others. Thanks guys for all that you do. Don't let anyone say that what you do isn't worthwhile. You are, and will continue, saving lives. Keep it up! Thanks for letting us ride along. Looking forward to Season 3, whenever it comes.
Laura Davies Berdanis Loved the series. When the crew would get all excited and hyped up, I would also. Of course I loved when more tornadoes were shown but this is real life as the chasers go out and weather can't be switched on and off with a switch. I loved the intensity of the crew when strong storms were popping up. And I loved the kindness and concern that the whole crew gave helping victims in the path of the tornadoes. Because I don't have the knowledge and courage of storm chasers, it's wonderful to do storm chasing through the eyes of the pros. It's exciting and fun. Hopefully you'll do another backer program so we all can enjoy 2014 storm chasing through the cameras of your crew in the seats of the Dominators. Thank you for all you're doing for our protection and for future weather technology.
atlssr I am terrified of tornadoes. Terrified. Watching Reed and his team on a mission to give people a fighting chance with faster warnings gives me peace of mind. I subscribe to TVNweather and watch all his video clips. I follow the live storm chasing map, even when it is no where near Biloxi, MS. I have loved watching Reed from the very beginning. No one like him. I love his laugh. I love his energy. Someday I may go on a storm chasing tour but only with Reed's team. Even if he does crazy things and gets too close, he always cares about the safety of his team. I admire him very much. I wish he were back on the Discovery Channel. People need education about tornadoes and how to stay safe.
