Reviews

Caio Costa An overrated series poorly written. Everything is solved in a easy and convenient manner for the writer. Action scenes was what held me a bit longer, but I couldn't bare the way too simplist story
phoenix 2 >>This review is for the 5 aired seasons>> So, my overall rating is 6. It is 8 for the first seasons and a 5 to 4 for the most recent ones. The things that I like about this series: -It feels (felt actually) original It wasn't shy to kill it's charactersRagnar was an interesting characterIt was historically kind of accurateThe story at first was really entertaining and interestingThe things I didn't like start from season four: -They started trying to copy Game of Thrones -They ran out of lands to conquer so they started messing with the characters -Hate, hate, hate that criple guy, even though he's an interesting character and more well built than Bjun -Vikings were unstopable. In the first seasons, things were more realistic. But they started being more bold in season four and five. I mean, a whole english army and they were defeated time after time by a small viking army?? -It took them a while to get to Italy at first, by crossing France and such. But then they just traveled there like that, easily and in no time.... So, maybe I'm just disappointed because I loved this show and now it is just tiring to watch.
keelhaul-80856 This show starts out a little slow in season one. By season 2, it really picks up and Ragnar Lothbrok has everyone stirred to action. The politics and warfare in England and abroad really gets interesting. You feel invested in the characters, even if some of this is based on mythology and has a few PC cheesy moments for feminism. Season 3 was awesome, and 4 has some interesting parts, but by 5, I am disappointed. It all feels a bit disjointed and out of whack. Also, the way the Saxons are always defeated like children is tantamount to watching The Mystic Knights on Fox kids or Power Rangers. I mean, yes, the vikings kicked ass and did nearly conquer Britain until Alfred the Great's comebacks, but the way they fall for EVERY trap is just silly. They NEVER learn even one thing from previous battles, and never set traps of their own. The way the Saxon troops even swing a sword makes them look lazy or medicated-- just fodder for every viking that has a pulse. Then, they ruined everything by having Ragnar sacrifice himself in a snake pit???? The scene was cool, but would have been better with a sensible plot for this. His reasoning just seemed lousy and contrived, and now we have to watch Ivar drag around on his knees torturing people in season 5, and Bjorn is hanging around in the Mediterranean or something. I am still watching, but I wonder how much life the series has, and if it will make Alfred the Great's character and plot more intriguing than recent stories.
salloum_11 This gotta be my favourite tv show , great acting , good gripping stories , amazing fighting , fast pace , and wayyyy better than the boring slow pace Game of thrones!!
