Heike Jansen During the 2009 Kentucky Derby, long-shot contender Mine That Bird started in last place and wound up winning the race in an amazing, come-from-behind upset. "50 to 1" is the story of the thoroughbred's history-making victory and refers to the betting odds against his winning. The cast, including Christian Kane as Mark Allen, did an amazing job of bringing this wonderful & heart-warming story to life. I've watched it countless times by now and I get caught up in the action every single time. Still one of my absolute favorite movies! :-)
robinmynatt The best movie ever! You gotta see it and your husband will love it too~ Not a dull moment. A lot of heart put into this movie, and the acting is flawless. Totally enjoyed it. Very well written and produced...Cute actors kept my full attention at all times and I never can usually sit long enough to watch a full movie...I have recommended to all my friends and family...Be sure and leave your positive reviews on these movie rating sites. This movie has not been given the full credit it deserves. Not sure what the critics are looking for but maybe they don't like a wonderfully enjoyable family movie that is hard to find these days with enough action to keep the Dads attention too. Well, this movie has it all..I was at the grocery store looking at rentals, and a lady suggested it and said her and her husband really enjoyed it..So glad they pointed it out! Buy the DVD for gifts and share with friends..
jhembrook529 I rented 50 to 1 from Redbox because I wanted to see it first before I bought it to be sure I'd like it. Well, I loved it! I loved the acting by all in the film especially Skeet Ulrich and Christian Kane! I fell in love with Mine that Bird from the beginning of watching him and seeing the actual jockey, Calvin Borel, ride at the end of the movie was amazing! He knew exactly how to ride the horse to save his energy for the end to win the race. Even knowing how it ended didn't take away from the excitement of seeing it happen. The movie was very well done and I intend to buy it as soon as I am able. My daughter is 9 and a horse lover and I think she would very much enjoy watching this movie as well!
waddickf9406 I really loved this movie. The actors were really great. They all worked well together and I really enjoyed how they played off of each other. It is a funny family movie. I love Christian Kane as both an actor and musician, and was glad to both see him act and hear his music in some of the scenes as well. I am a Kaniac and so I follow everything that he does. I drove all the way from Indianapolis to Church Hill Downs in Louisville to be an extra in the movie, and so I was really excited to see the movie once it came out. It never came close enough to my home town for me to see it in the theater. But it is really a great movie, and I've watched it several times already. Haven't find me yet, but I will keep looking.
