Finfrosk86 Huh. This is a bit of a shame. Because this movie could have been a lot better, had it not been for the horrible middle movie. This is three short movies, tied together by a background movie, and they are slightly mixed together. The background movie is OK, actually.. and the first short is not bad. But the second one is awful. I mean, jeez, pretty much everything about it sucks. The costumes being the very worst thing about it. It looks like you sent a kid to a junk yard, with 2 minutes to put together a costume with what he/she could find there. It looks totally ridiculous, and not the least tiny bit scary. It also relied way to heavily on crying, begging and screaming which I HATE. Such a cheap, tiresome, dumb way to try to make something scary. The third movie.. uhm, well, it's not that bad. Shoddy acting drags it down some. But it had some awesome gore.Art the clown is the only really good thing in this, he looks awesome. Really scary and creepy.I really just wrote this review to tell you how sucky the second/middle movie is. It's almost worth checking out for the stupid looking costume.
Zbigniew_Krycsiwiki I've always had a weakness for anthology horror films, so this one, about a babysitter watching a mysterious VHS tape secretly given to her charges, intrigued me, but the end results are only a mixed bag. Built up from several short films made by this film's makers, this comes off as a patchwork, vaguely reminding me of the trainwreck, Night Train To Terror, only not as howlingly awful.Vignettes are about a demonic clown kidnapping women, a silly looking alien invading a woman's home, and another story of the same clown terrorising another young girl on the highway late at night, with a twist which doesn't seem plausible, so much as it seems like the filmmakers desperately just wanted a pointless surprise twist ending. The compilation film works better when it focuses on mood and atmosphere, because it is good looking and well filmed ( for the most part ) and it makes good use of colours, in a lot of scenes, but it goes way overboard trying to make the short films presented on the VHS look like old film footage, with artificial scratches, and static on the soundtrack. No VHS tape ever had things like that. Nor did a VHS tape ever have such ridiculous colour saturation, as is show here. The torture effects drown out what atmosphere is built in the other scenes. The twist ending is well done, if predictable. Overall, go into this with middle of the road expectations, it will be mildly amusing, and at only 76 minutes ( without the opening and closing credits ) it's a quick sit.
troublesometasha13 This has to be one of the worst horror movies I have seen and I am generally not a hard to please movie watcher. From about 20 minutes in I kept checking how long the movie had left because I couldn't wait for it to be over! The only reason I kept watching was reading reviews on here that said it did get better as it went on... it really didn't. The acting was awful, really really cheesy! Now I've read on here lots that it was a budget movie but I'm sorry I can't say "oh yeah it was good" simply because it was budget - some ideas in it were great, the watching a movie then you're in that movie was a clever concept and the third "in" movie had good graphics with the girl at the end (although I'm not totally sure the c word needed to be carved into her body) but little details were totally forgotten - the girl in the third movie runs from the clown with her hair flowing... on the next scene it's in a bun then the next scene a loose pony tail... is the movie suggesting that the girl was so vein she needed to stop running from her attacker so she could remodel her do? If the bad guy isn't scary to her how will it be to the rest of us?! lol I realise that's a little pedantic but little things like that annoy me. I don't know who thought up of the alien thing but it was the best thing I had seen in a long time, I haven't laughed that much in ages! But scary... hmm no! I do love the way the producer thanked her mother in the titles though, was nice to see. Better luck next time.
John Marcus I can see that a lot of people chose to review this film. I'm doing it for two reasons:1. Although a little cheesy, it did make my top ten. 2. Halloween is coming, and this is a great movie to watch with a groupof friends. I watched, "Something About Mary with a group offriends, and I never laughed so much. This movie isn't funny, but itwill be just a much fun with a bunch of friends and (maybe)...refreshments(?) I watched this movie because it was recommended as sort of a prank. My nephew knows I don't like clowns. I watched it, and found that it was actually pretty creepy. It's low-budget and all that goes with it, but it kind of had me going. And, that is not an easy thing to do. They made a second All Hallows Eve, but it just didn't measure up.This movie made my top ten because there just aren't that many scary movies out there, and it was actually kind of original. So, low-budget or not, I applaud the outcome. Somebody on the set of this film had an idea, and they managed to work it out without spending a whole lot of money. Points for the whole "more for less" theme.Seriously, watch it this Halloween with your friends, especially if you haven't seen it. You'll have a blast.
