This movie was made in 2012, but I've seen better CGI/special effects in 1970's movies.There was better acting in my son's 3rd grade Christmas program.About the only thing that could've made this movie worse was to put Ben Affleck in it.

The actual storyline for American Warships was marginally better than the Hollywood equivalent, Battleships.The acting, for the most part was terrible, but this only meant that the half decent actors looked awesome. Carl Weathers stars as a military general and puts in a decent performance, despite his only real sparring partner being less than capable.All in all, I have seen much worse, and this didn't mess about with any of the fluff of getting to know the characters, and just got straight to blowing stuff up.Best line from the movie comes from Mario Van Peebles character - "You're not going to sink my Battleship!" - Brilliant.I recon a solid 5/10 movie. Not brilliant but actually not bad either.

Obviously the writers of this film didn't go out of their way to strain their brains to come up with a decent enough script and the producers were probably not so eager to empty their pockets to add to the budget. In the end what you have is a film that is literally not worth seeing. The acting is so bad it'll make you cry more than you thought you did while watching the TITANIC. The effects are so terrible the CG resembles something more like silicon rather than animation and the editing is also somewhat crap as various scenes were constantly reused several times just to indicate how low the film budget really is.Overall, Its not worth the running time it'll take you to watch this film. The film BATTLESHIP might not be a masterpiece itself but it is okay if you don't take the plot too seriously.

I usually don't write reviews or comments, but this movie is so so pathetic that I created an account here just to say how bad this movie is to let out my frustrations. Its actually not a movie, its a cartoon made by some retarded clowns. We need to rather invent a new word in English vocabulary which should mean '100 times pathetic or disgustingly pathetic or pathetically pathetic' than that word would be suitable for this movie. Whoever has watched this movie for at least 20 min has become a 'victim' of this movie and must go to see any psychiatric to calm oneself down. I happen to see this movie on Netflix, but god bless those people who actually watched this movie on theaters. And moreover, despite the fact that they made the pathticest movie possible in mankind, they also showed intent for second part in the end by saying 'aliens might have sent distress signal'. ** Please do yourself a favor and do not watch this movie. **
