Andrew Pelechaty With "Anchorman" reaching cult status, fans have been demanding a sequel. Now they got one...over a decade later. So was it worth it?Fans of the original will enjoy it, with all the first movie's jokes reused (including another epic, cameo-filled news team battle). The characters are still the same: Ron's a chauvinistic idiot (if anything, he's even dumber in the sequel), Brian's still obsessed with sex, Champ is a dumb racist with an unhealthy fascination for Ron and Brick as a delightfully dense as before (even turning up to his own funeral). Kristen Wiig starts as Brick's equally empty-headed girlfriend. They're a scarily perfect couple. The sequel sees the team tackle the burgeoning 24-hour news cycle, using car chases and animal puff pieces to get big ratings. While you don't expect "Anchorman" to make biting political commentary, it does foreshadow the sensationalism of 24-hour news and even mainstream new bulletins, with attention-grabbing 'news' instead of real stories. While it lacks the original's iconic and endlessly quotable jokes, "Anchorman 2" works as pure fan service, giving people more of what they want. The tagline could well be 'The Sequel You Wanted is Finally Here. Enjoy."
Ugesh Prasad i have to tell that this movie has more funny scenes and literally better than first part, they knew what to do with the every characters. i really loved watching this movie, i had tears while laughing so hard. steve carell was the best and i should say that they made use of him more than the first part... he got lot of scenes on to his pockets. Will Ferrell was one hell of man, he owns the spot light n he gives the best shot every time he steps in the camera.. baxter is epic as always.. when the climax hits with every country news channel with so many celebrities , i felt goosebumps all over my spine.. all together we must appreciate the director a lot because he made what we liked and i strongly recommend him to take 3rd part and i don't no , i think it should never end .. but please don't end any character in this movie.. everybody is a gem here. movie may b out of context in some portions but we can get so many messages through all the funny stuffs though, they make sense sometimes.. i didn't expect Meagan Good here.. that black word scene was out of box thinking. hope the series continues to excite us more n more.. love from India <3
Python Hyena Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013): Dir: Adam McKay / Cast: Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate: Every bit as exciting and hilarious as the first film. This one regards the legacy of anchorman Ron Burgundy who descends into the 1980's. In the film's opening his co-anchor / wife Veronica is promoted and he is fired. This wrecks his marriage and separates him from his son and friends. After many fails stints at attaining his celebrity status he is given an opportunity to regain his legacy but it will be the graveyard shift at a rival station. He recruits his team and arrive only to be met with the snobbery of its lead anchor. Director Adam McKay and star Will Ferrell answered the original film's emerging popularity with a sequel with every bit as much hilarity without xeroxing too much from the original. As Ron Burgundy Will Ferrell goes through an accident that causes blindness. He also adopts a shark that he bottle feeds. David Koechner as sportscaster Champ is first seen in a chain of fried bat restaurants. Paul Rudd as Fantana is first seen doing a series of kitten photography shoots. Steve Carell as Brick goes through a big transition when he falls in love with a woman with an IQ as low as his. Christina Applegate plays Burgundy's wife who received the promotion that he didn't. While the film is visually creative its biggest asset is its numerous amusing celebrity cameos. Easily one of the best sequels one could ask for with a grand cruise control joke that reminds viewers that the legend will continue onward as long as absurdity exits. Score: 10 / 10
manuelbm13 This movie is close to a masterpiece of stupidity, if you can admire that, this is for you. Look, it's really really dumb, but it is also one of the movies I have laughed most with. I honestly liked it more than the first one. Yes, It is more stupid (and that's pretty dumb considering its predecessor), but that's the hole damn point of the movie. It isn't an insult, as many people are taking it, this kind of humor actually has its art to it and Will Ferrell is the master of it. The cast was also great, not to mention the cameos. Hey! do you wanna go deeper? do you actually wanna past the stupidity and look for something else? well, it is there. There's obviously a great critic to the media. Anyway, I wanted to write this because it has a lot of bad reviews and I thought maybe there's someone out there who needs to be encourage to watch this movie. So if it's you, give it a try, and if you go pass the first 20 minutes without laughing stop there and look for another movie, it is clearly not for you.
