This movie takes advantage of found footage techniques to keep production costs low. I'm normally a fan of this method when done correctly, but this movie gives us unbelievable angles that doesn't have us searching the background. It literally forces our attention to very raw "paranormal" events. Great waste of time, not so much if you're looking for a decent movie.

Nigel is not at all a good director. His acting is at all, just should've had someone else direct. The writing is just "ok". The idea is great for the three films however the acting in the other two are absolutely horrible. I'm guessing they are friends that he owes a favor to. So...... a better writer, a way better director and waaaaaaaay better actors these really would be amazing movies.

I really like this film - it is very well thought out in camera deployment, by one person (with perhaps some uncredited off-camera help for a scene or two), S. Soma's review covers most of my thoughts. Having worked in the security biz, I can technically dismantle camera and mic usage, but by establishing specific camera locations, Mr. Bach did a great job of mimiciking them - it may have all been shot with a single smartphone, but looks like a couple other cameras may have been employed. (Night vision is usually achieved with infrared LEDs for illumination; it looks green, but not that green, and certainly no purple.)Very well done! After Primer, this is second on my list of best microbudget flicks.

I didn't expect much from this. Found footage films are nothing new and can be predictable. The reviews ranged from 'awful' and 'waste of time' to 'cult classic' and 'original and scary'.To begin, the only living character in this film is a pretty normal, if a little ugly, man. Not your young good looking couple or annoying group of teenagers. That in itself makes the film somewhat original. He is a likable character and his actions are both funny and realistic (though at times pretty dumb). I didn't find myself routing for the guy though, I didn't care about him. The film delivers a good handful of jump scares and peep through the fingers moments. The story of Bad Ben is interesting and you definitely want to know more. The film leaves many unanswered questions which are hopefully answered in the prequel.Overall it is a very scary film that I would recommend. I might have been ambitious giving it 10/10 but I rate horrors on scare factor. If I'm scared, It gets a thumbs up.
