Daniel Rodrigues This movie is lame...sooooo lame... The story, even though a bit original, is boring. A chef, that gets angry at a bloguer, for saying bad things about his program, and about his restaurant, kidnaps and tortures him, really bad, in order to make him suffer some regret for the "bad deeds" he has done. Stupid story, stupid actors, with stupid role play... The only good part in this film, is the death of the detective, that the bloguer's wife hired to search for him... Unfortunately this kind of crap is more and more normal, nowadays... Stay away...if you want to see torture movies, try Last House on the Left or I spit on your grave...both versions (72 and the modern one). This one is forgetful...a waste of time...
pahaake First, I am a huge fan on Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen, etc. I also consider myself quite the food snob. I love to cook, but would never, ever, consider doing it as a career. All of that said, this movie is extremely clever. Not terribly original from a revenge and torture perspective, but I love the "challenges".The low budget nature of the film makes it unlikely to ever get a major viewing; however, anyone that is a fan of food and Gordon Ramsey will truly enjoy this film.Final thought, for a cost conscious film, the acting is actually quite good.
slatromhsiloof Far less entertaining than reading Mexican graffiti on the wall of the bathroom stall, and take into consideration that I can't read Mexican. Whoever funded this trash should have spent his $20 better and bought a pizza instead. At least a pizza would have brought pleasure to 3-4 people, something this movie will not do in a lifetime, no matter how many fake reviews the cast and crew pile up on IMDb trying to get some poor sap to pay to watch this garbage. I couldn't even make it through half the movie it was so bad, and I'll watch Hogan's Heroes re-runs. It was so bad it put my dog into a coma and I had to have him put to sleep. The only thing this movie has going for it is it is so unmemorable that they can rename it in a few months and re market it as a Michael Moore documentary. Yes, its THAT bad. I blame the director, the producer, the actors and the writers for the poor quality of the film. They should all go back to working at Burger King and leave the film making to the professionals. Yes, I am being overly kind. Usually I would call for them to be flayed alive to keep anyone else from being inflicted by their horrendous garbage, but my brain has not yet recovered from the damage this film has done to it. I only wish I had huffed paint instead of watching this movie as I would have killed far fewer brain cells.
Matt Kracht Apparently, this movie is low budget, but I couldn't tell. I wish I could say that about every independent movie I see! The other reviews are spot on: this is a very good movie, with a tasteful, somewhat fresh spin on the revenge movie, bucking the recent trend of gross-out, "torture porn" films. There's no actual torture in this movie, though it's implied and almost certainly is happening, off-camera. Some might be disappointed by this. Myself, I find it somewhat refreshing to watch a revenge movie that focuses more on psychological horror, story, and pacing, rather than buckets of fake blood. Don't get me wrong; I like buckets of fake blood as much as the next guy (I liked the first Saw movie, for instance), but much of that genre is based on titillating people who get off on graphic displays of violence, frequently with a strong misogynist subtext. I'm glad that the genre horror has more life to it than that.Everything in this movie was quite good, though I might have tweaked the story here and there, to highlight certain themes a little stronger and to give a little more time to the very interesting conflict between the two leads. Overall, though, I liked it quite a lot, and I recommend it to anyone who likes darker dramas, revenge movies, and/or independent cinema. There's so much to like here, that you'll easily overlook any flaws.
