Leofwine_draca BRIDE OF KILLER NERD is the inevitable follow-up to KILLER NERD, the title referencing THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. Sadly, even by Troma standards these two films aren't any good at all. They're shot on video black comedies in which geeky characters are celebrated and turn the tables on the bullies who oppress them in various silly ways.Imagine THE TOXIC AVENGER without the main character becoming a toxic superhero and you'll see how these films are. The production values are rock bottom, the humour is forced and unfunny, and there really is no reason to watch a bunch of characters mumbling their way through meaningless dialogue - unless you're a glutton for punishment.
whammy666 Thank God I got the Killer Nerd/Bride Of Killer Nerd DVD, I really go it to see the sequel. The sequel is better quality, but that takes away all the fun. The original is worse and has bad special effects and in this one it was like they knew what they were doing. It is kind of a boring film, but still fun. Any thing is fun with Harold Kunkle, still played by the great Toby Radloff. His girlfriend Thelma Krumple is played by Heidi Lohr and does a good job, she also played Harold's "girlfriend" in part 1. This movie has some decent gore, a Pscho like shower scene, and more. Make sure you take this one home today along with the original!
Richard Kampa Bride Of Killer Nerd is to Killer Nerd as Bride Of Frankenstein is to Frankenstein: a sequel that improves on the original. Harold meets Thelma, the ultimate female nerd, and they fall in love. After being thoroughly humiliated, they embark on a killing rampage even more over-the-top than Harold's spree in the first film. As an added treat, there is a party sequence with a really rocking band plus a nicely done homage to Alfred Hitchcock. A dandy of a low budget black comedy/horror flick. Filmed in the Cleveland area with a wonderful abundance of bad taste. I loved it!
mermatt This is the sequel to KILLER NERD -- the saga of Harold Kunkle continues. It starts out with a real Hitchcock-Twilight Zone style laugh and ends the same way. The film is the story of two nerds who find love -- a Thoreau and an Emily Dickinson of the 90s, both suicidal and both out for revenge. There is a little bit of Bobbitizing and cannibalism along the way just for fun. The film is quite witty and rather well done for a low-budget independent.
