morpen-palmer The quality of direction, acting and script made a possibly worthwhile plot into a disastrous movie. The BBC in their wisdom gave it a re-run tonight and I can't think why. It is not worth even one star. There were glaring continuity errors including (in a different sense)the fact that the previously annoyingly gabby punk kid didn't say a word during all the time he was being held loosely captive by the baddie. She (the baddie)would actually have made a great Rosa Klebb in a Bond movie, but in this film had to cope with bad lines and execrable scenes. She was so quick to plunge the needle into so many of her later victims yet she took so long in her attempt on the heroine that the lift doors open. There was a glaring continuity error with the President's tie. All-in-all not a movie worth the candle.
sixda The movie "Contagion" was better than I thought it would be. At first before the movie started I had the feeling it would be cheesy like a horrible Sci-Fi movie. The quality of acting in this movie was not of the best of quality, the only actor's face who I knew was the dad's from the television series "Wonder Years." The actors did not say their lines with the "realness" that they should have. There were a lot of holes in the movie, for example with the president's family. They didn't exactly speculate what happened with his wife and they talked a lot about the son, but we never saw him or heard anything about him. The believability of the storyline was alright with the virus spreading through the hospital by it being airborne made somewhat sense. The ending was annoying, first with her cutting only one of the straps on the tunnel and it expanding and then when she made the last second phone call. All in all this is a movie that you watch during a boring weekend to go to sleep.
Emily W Before I watched this movie, I must say I wasn't really expecting much, regarding all of the negative reviews I had read on IMDb about Contagion. And, unfortunately, I was correct in my presumptions. There is no word that can better describe this movie than RIDICULOUS. This movie is not considered a comedy; however, I don't think I stopped snickering the entire length of it. The majority of the plot was just absurd…though the theme would have made a good movie perhaps under better direction and with better actors, this creation of Contagion was not only disappointing but silly as well. The acting was horrible on behalf of every main character. None of the roles were portrayed in a believable fashion, and the dialogue was rather amusing in its unoriginality. Everything that happened in this movie was just ludicrously predictable. As a last thought, I was really disappointed that the director did not include any more blood and gore than he did; the effects of Ebola on the human body are horrifying – but all I got to see were some red warts and a nosebleed.
kdavis-18 I am actually kind of in between thoughts on this movie. I thought that the acting (though cheesy) was pretty good.I thought that the story line was pretty believable. The only fault I had with it being that no one noticed the nurse that was causing all of the problems in all of the time that they were looking for her even though she was walking around the hospital. The flow of the movie was very easy to follow and to understand. Usually I have trouble following story lines but I found this one amazingly easy. The ending of the movie was a little too expected. In all movies, people seem to come up with a solution to their problem at the last minute. In this case, it was 2 seconds before the bomb went off. I expected that as soon as the bomb was brought into the picture.Overall, the movie was okay. I don't really know how else to describe it. It was one of those movies that is just so bad that it's hilarious and that's what makes it good.
