soeprijo19 Again, I'm late 6 years to watch a good Asian movie. This makes me think why cinemas in my country only play Hollywood summer blockbusters when there are many better non Hollywood movies out there. Anyway... This movie really reminds me of HK Chow Yun Fat's The Killer (1987). There is a romantic killer and disable girl as his love interest. By then, the girl was blind after the shoot out and in Daisy, the girl can not speak after the gun fight. Both killers are decent man and have a good self consciousness (I doubt there is really a gun for hire out there like our lead actor). But that's all of the resemblance. The tone of Daisy is drama, so action is not very intense. Even at the end, when the final show down between the killer and the villains, the intensity is not very high. But one thing differ this movie from its predecessor, it's Jun Ji Hyun. She's really a good actress, capable of drawing our sympathy, feel her love and pain even though she does not speak nearly for half end of the movie. When she discovered the truth about the man whom she really loved, deep down in our heart we really wish happiness for her, even though some of us maybe know what's coming. Definitely 8/10
gorgonite Take the writer from My Sassy Girl and the director from Infernal Affairs, mix it up with three of Korea's finest actors, film on location in Holland and the result is unfortunately not the work of art that I was anticipating....Oh well at least the cinematography was lush, showing Amsterdam's more scenic side.******************************************************** Spoilers below ********************************************************************Our hero is the hit-man always dressed in black and who nails bad-boys for a living. In between off-ing punks, he relaxes by appreciating nature, listening to classical music and people watching. After becoming enamoured by our heroine, he subsequently woos her from afar by building her bridges and sending her flowers (without a card). Our villain is the nasty cop, dressed in a dull grey suit, who moves in on our hero's girl and claims credit for the flowers, bridge, anything he can get away with! The girl is almost eye candy, and hardly speaks throughout the whole film.************************************************************* ***************************************************** *********************Positives - Cinematography, some melodrama, some actionNegatives - Cliché, waste of acting talentOverall - Letdown
echo cao No matter I love you or not, I use my life to proof the long time waiting. In the last moment, my life just likes the daisy blooming in the picture. This is a typical Asian movie, which combines the element of the South Korean's tragedy and the element of china's action movie. It gives you a feeling from the deep heart. May be you are a litter puzzled about the detail, however, use your heart, you can experience something different. The views and pictures in this film are so beautiful. It's a traveling for your eyes. If you like classic music, you also can be satisfaction by the movie. Yes, although there are some raw skills in this film, they didn't affect it become a good and moving movie.Using your heart, your eyes and your hearing to feel the different kind of love coming from the other side of the world.
loner008 Somehow i watched the movie thinking it might be good, after all Infernal Affairs was great. Unfortunately this one is real bad. Some how the cop and killer race appeared out of no where. wasn't the cop on another case? and suddenly, they just switched departments, from arresting drugs dealers to assassins. Anyway, spoiler... isn't it stupid to start shooting the person who shot the people who wants to shoot u. And if the cop had much better intelligence, the assassin wouldn't miss his shot if he was out to kill him in the first place. The story is also too slow pace. Please dun make thrillers with slow Korean melodrama kind of love story. it kind of spoils everything, not here nor there. Therefore it deserves only the middle grade...5 points.
