DARKEST NIGHT is a nondescript Filipino horror movie made on a tiny indie budget. I was disappointed to find out that the main cast members are American, playing an American family vacationing in the mountains. An ethnic cast would have been much more interesting and added local flavour. It's a typical haunted house effort, rather aimless in scope, and as dark and gloomy as you'd expect. Very little happens of note and the whole production has a feeling of predictability about it that makes it a bit of a chore to sit through.

Nothing to say... Sorry, waste of time and for me it's not possible to give a vote even if it was possible to give -10 it's still to much. minimum length for review is 10 lines... :-/Acting very bad, after each kill 2 minutes cry and back to the coffee table as if nothing happened.Special effect? Where were they and if they where there I think in the 70's they were a lot better!Interacting with each other... Sometimes it looks like every "actor" was talking to a green screen if every scene, per person, was made separately.Acting:- Music:- script:- camera:-

I don't know what the other reviewers are drinking or smoking, but this movie was bad, bad, bad. Don't waste your $ and your time. This is my first review and I signed up on IMDb just to warn you.It was bad directing, bad acting, bad conception, absolutely the worst found footage flic I have yet seen and, as you know, there are a lot of bad ones out there. If I were in a position to do so, I'd can this film to prevent anyone else from wasting money to see it. I cannot for the life of me understand why the other reviewers thought it was so great unless they are related to the director.

I saw this film recently at a private screening, the "final final" version (I think 99 min. long?) in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. I'm not sure about the hype that something like this really happened in Malaysia, but the film delivers on its own. After the story got set up, I was grabbing my seat the whole time. DJ Perry and the Filipino cast was excellent. Plus one great Malaysian actor! Very good! Hooray! If you want to see a film that will scare the wits out of you, this is really it. The "home video" setup made you feel like you were trapped in some dark place, a nightmare where you could never wake up. I had nightmares myself the night I saw it, about people getting chopped up and mutilated. If you check out any horror film this year, see this one!
