Desertman84 DC 9/11: Time of Crisis is a TV movie which re-enacts the events of the September 11, 2001 attacks as seen from the point of view of the President of the United States and his staff. It starred Timothy Bottoms as President George W. Bush;together with John Cunningham, David Fonteno, Gregory Itzin and Penny Johnson. It was written by Lionel Chetwynd and directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith.This TV movie focuses on the difficult decisions and tasks faced by President Bush and his staff on September 11, 2001 and the days following the attacks. Based on in-depth interviews and extensive research, it recounts the tragic events from the moment Bush hears the news of the attacks to significant briefings with advisers. It chronicles national security meetings, which piece together evidence linking Osama bin Laden and the Al Qaeda network. Also,it film uncovers how Bush and his staff dealt with the volatile situation. Aside from that,it illustrates the Administration's strategy for responding both to the terrorists and the American people. This is a lousy TV movie which more of a propaganda rather then presenting an objective account of the events. It provides pro-Bush depiction of the President's actions in the wake of 9/11.Also,it depicts the President and the First Lady Laura Bush as heroic people and Donald Rumsfield, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the administration as selfless and well-informed civil servants.Aside from that,it subtly promotes the USA Patriot Act, increased military spending, and the policy of pre- emptive war and the justification of the war in Iraq.It was definitely movie that Republicans will truly enjoy.
Arman_33 My god This has to be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Did u see how they portray G.Bush as the "all knowing non-fearing leader", Condolizza Rice as the sweet smart lady that cries after seeing people on TV, Donald "Rumi" Rumsfield, and Dick Chainy, It made them look like they were the "true" leaders of peace. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I didn't laugh this hard in a while, I bet u that Bush didn't even lose any sleep and Rice never really cried. LMAO at how they made Donald Rumsfield look like he was the best Secretary of Defense there, and how Chainy is the quiet nice guy. I think who ever believes is just pure brainwashed from what they watch on CNN. I mean the media made one HUGE deal about Dick Chainy shooting his friend so they reduce stop the tension about what is going on in Iraq. People open your eyes, The Collapse of WTC was already planned, Don't Believe me?... Here is something that will change your mind (http://www.physics.byu.edu/research/energy/htm7.html). I will definitely be attending this and if you people also want to see the truth come as well. The Government is on the verge of world domination, they are about to cause a 3rd war right now on Iran, WHY?... Its definitely not about no fake Nukes, not about oil, but it's all about the value of the American dollar. You guys are probably confused but to understand what I'm talking about then please go and read books on what the U.S. is really about, and how it is Isreal's puppet. People lets not forget that we build this country as citizens and what did we get out of it, Major Tax cuts that keeps the low class even lower, or the heavy gas prices and much more other stuff. I am in a group of activist with my fellow mates at University and also part of a large summit that will soon impeach the president if god willing. People I am urging you to stop letting these people destroy not only our country but the whole world as well. Thank you for your time
scott_urner If you are on the left or the right in America, there is no possible way that you can watch this film and think that this is how things went down. So calm, so rational, Bush as an amazingly calm and intelligent politician and leader, with contrived situations based on selected facts that the writer sought to use - what about Bush's demands to attack Iraq before there was ANY evidence to support it, just days after - numerous government officials have been documented during the 9/11 hearings with the commission... "We start with Bin Laden, that's what the American people expect," Bush says, COUNTERING his cabinet - I think it was the other way around... at the VERY LEAST, this movie is so soft and polite that any rational person can't think that all these government officials were so... rational. Ugh.
visseranja This movie seems even more fictitious than Micheal Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11. It does not convince me that George W Bush reacted accurately to the 9/11 attacks whatsoever. Where did the dialogs between the statesmen came from? How did the movie makers get that information? To me they seemed completely fake. That's not how people talk to each other! Especially not when they're under high pressure! It might just be my misperception, but this seems like a common Hollywood movie to me. Furthermore, why didn't they show us more real material? Where is the footage of the actual Oval office speech, the speech at Ground zero, at Camp David etc. etc.? Why not show us what Bush really said and did? Is there anything to hide? Why did they only show us the grieving people? Is that supposed to make us feel more sympathetic then we already do? It certainly doesn't make this 'documentary' more convincing and it definitely doesn't make George W Bush seem like a nice guy.
