Reviews

rcbridii This is the kind of stupid horror film I miss from the '80s and '90s. It's not focused on being shocking, but on being entertaining, funny, and only mildly disturbing. A zombie movie should be funny (Romero can pull off a semi-serious zombie... but we've seen the failure that was the 28 Days movies)and that's what you get with this movie. It's a ridiculous premise, and that's fine given the nature of the movie. It's filled with dumb clichés and that works for this kind of movie. It's a good laugh movie for people who like dumb zombie flicks. Nothing more. Nothing less. It has the silly horror humor of classics like The Stuff. There is not a serious thing in this movie.
Michael O'Keefe Give credit to director Patrick Dinhut for taking the real stupid out of a zombie movie. It is very interesting and your intelligence is not necessarily compromised. Bobby Quin(Dean Caine)is a Special Forces soldier who dies in a secret mission in Cambodia. Well, almost dies? He is flown back in a body bag like the rest of his unit. In California, on the autopsy table, Quin awakens with no vital signs, but a shred of humanity and unbelievable powers and abilities. Knowing that he and his unit were infected by a zombie virus, Quin searches for his fellow undead in determination to keep the rest of the world from being victim of the strange illness. Amongst the gore is clichéd humor. The special effects are above being average and some even disturbing. Other stars include: Susan Ward, Guy Torry, Ellie Cornell, John Billingsley and Natassia Malthe. For those with a zombie fetish...come get your fix.
Evaluator This is a good one. Considering it's a TV movie it preforms really well and keeps the entertainment going throughout the movie. Some scenes tend to be bothersome, for example when the military truck breaks down. There was no scene that lead to that, it went from sitting there in truck to standing outside the broken down truck. It's almost like there was a scene before that and it was removed. Good movie with graphic violence which tends to keep people watching whether they want to admit it or not. Lots of random action /graphic violence scenes that happen out of nowhere. Caine always has something cocky to say after achieving something further in the story like killing a zombie. The only reason it didn't get a higher rating is because it wasn't a major motion picture. But it should have been. It surely doesn't compare to Dawn Of The Dead or like 28 days later, but it's still worth the watch. One thing I found interesting was they never used a whole load of CGI graphics like most TV movies do(excessively). For example the zombies are people dressed up as zombies not computer generated images. Even gun shots and things like that seem real. In one scene where Caine(Bobby) first meets the character "Johnson" and Johnson shoots the insect on the tile floor. The insect is destroyed but the tiles are left clean. You would think a double barrel shotgun would mark any floor in some which way or form. Enjoy the flick.
Vera Well, i have seen better, i have seen worse... but now i just finished looking it and i nearly smiled all the time for the funny gags. If you liked the humor of other films, where they run around in deepest trouble and discuss the quality of other horror films, then it will fit your sense of humor, too. I won't give a plot summary here, for i am German and i hope, you forgive all faults that might appear. Back to topic: this film is for a TV-Production well done and if you are not the one, who aspects million dollars special-effects, but some that are compared to other zombie films very well done, it will be fun to you. Like i just wrote i just finished the film and during writing this i smile all the time for the gags that pass my mind. Well, like everything, it is a matter of taste *ggg*.....
