Reviews

elena Just rented from corner market my friends and I like very much. We read many different reviews of film but think its fun film of its own. This being independent we had no idea of. The film has many beautiful pictures that stuck in memory for something that's considered horror movie. I like the character that turns into birds and the white girl with veins spreading around. Cool! Cool! I did not like the other monster that looks like ghost sort of. I also did not think acting so strong either. The story was something I never seen before and very fast moving without a minute to breathe. There were some things that weren't explained but I forgive because it really engaged me. But really fun fun film to see.
maohmex2004 I know there are fans of this film, but is not my case. Even when I saw FX directly from Videocopilot tutorials for AE that I could make much better than the film, there is no storyline in this movie. I found it very bored and some characters don't have any personality. I think that director/writer Brian A. Metcalf needs some lessons of how to make a sci-fi movie like a pro and not like an amateur project of college, full of shaking, bad movement displacement, bad lightning and so on.Another bad point of this movie is that a lot of explanations are missed. Come on!! Mr. Director, my imagination doesn't work as yours!. Maybe such answers are still flying in his head. Nonsense ending with guess what… BAD ACTORS TOO!!. Thomas Ian Nicholas .. American Pie times are over... so as you are… . I wish you better luck in your next film.
dkmasochist The pacing of this film is the most dynamic engagement of theatrical action I have seen in quite some time. One of the main questions that had come to mind when I watched this with a few friends was the origins of the naming from the characters. We were curious about any biblical terminology that could have been potentially associated with the names Jacob and Sarah. Not to mention the whole scenario of Jacob being brought back from the dead, or rather "resurrected." Then there is the concept of having a sword that hones the almighty power of good and destroys all evil that it faces. There is a complex turn in the character mythology as the dichotomy of Jacob and Mathias is revealed by one of the strongest components of the storyline, as Jacob turns evil as the movie closes, leaving a cliffhanger of what could potentially spawn a dramatic context change if they make any sequels. It was a brave choice for Jordan Matthews to take on a role where he turns evil at the end, going toe to toe with one of the masters of evil, Brad Dourif, the voice of Chucky. I was surprised to see Thomas Ian Nicholas take on a role completely separate from his work in the comedy genre as well. It reminded me of when I begin to greatly respect his work in movies like Rules Of Attraction
tsolidas I watched this film and found it to be an entertaining piece if you have nothing else to do. The production values were pretty frickin' good for an indie since I was expecting SyFy channel quality but thought it was better. The acting was to be what one would expect for a film in this genre with teens with little to no acting experience and there were no recognizable actors in the film at all. The best part was the story. But the execution didn't come off quite as well. I thought it was the first original film I had seen in a very long time. It really kept me interested and I liked the fact that there were so many zombies in this movie. I was a little nervous at first because it takes place in some small town and I was afraid there wouldn't be enough but there were so many everywhere. Also the small town feel was greatly escalated from the scenes underneath the shack. The ending - it really shocked me and I loved it!! I was so surprised to see Jacob turn the tide on badguy with long hair (can't pronounce his name) and to show that he has evil in him as well when all is lost. The film did have some issues though. Some scenes felt really big scale while others felt small in nature. I wish I had known more about the backgrounds of some of the characters. But overall, it was entertaining enough to keep me interested.
