In this spoof of "March of the Penguins," nature footage of penguins near the South Pole gets a soundtrack of human voices. Carl and Jimmy, best friends, walk 70 miles to the mating grounds where the female penguins wait. The huddled masses of females - especially Melissa and Vicki - talk about males, mating, and what might happen this year. Carl, Jimmy, and the other males make the long trek talking about food, fornication and flatulence. Until this year, Carl's sex life has been dismal, but he falls hard for Melissa. She seems to like him. A crisis develops when Jimmy comes upon something soft in the dark. Can friends forgive? Does parenthood await Carl and Melissa?

Reviews

disdressed12 i didn't like this movie at all.i think it's supposed to be a parody of March of the Penguins.but for me,it just wasn't funny.plus,i felt the humour consisted of mostly vulgar, crude language.there's a lot of the F-bomb(among other words) dropped here.this definitely isn't for kids.but i also just found it boring.i actually couldn't watch it all, because i found it too slow.as for the crude language, that doesn't always bother me,but i just found it gratuitous and too frequent.i don't think you always need to have swears to make things funny.it's not for every taste, that's for sure.if you don't mind a lot of very crude language, you might want to check this one out.for me,Farce of the Penguins is a 1/10
Jerique Not even the grand cast of star power could save this.Samuel L. Jackson's narration doesn't even save it, and he had quite a lot of lines. You can certainly tell that this movie is written by Bob Saget. His jokes were never that funny and he certainly shows that he tries to hard. The majority of the jokes come from penis references and fart jokes. They aren't clever and they aren't original. I can't see why anyone would find this movie funny or enjoyable. The editing was crazily poor. The musical numbers were performed terribly, and at times they tried to hard to be something special.Christina Applegate plays Melissa and she is looking for a nice guy. Carl (played by Saget) is looking for a girl who gets him - which just so happens to be Melissa. When they do finally meet after a long 55 minutes or so, they fall in love in a matter of 5 minutes. Then they have the clichéd storyline of best friends hating each other over a girl.I can't believe that Dane Cook, Norm Macdonald, Jason Alexander, Samuel L. Jackson, Christina Applegate, Woopi Goldberg, and Lewis Black even agreed to do this film.Do I even have to call it a film? It's far from being something entertaining.Anyone out there who thought "looks alright" take this review under consideration and change your minds. If you watch this movie, you will definitely want your 75 minutes back trust me.A movie about Penguins you might want to see is March of the Penguins, narrated by Morgan Freeman.Don't waste time or money on Farce of the Penguins. If you do watch this movie you'll only like the line by Dane Cook's character.
cyclone259 "If you're some bleeding heart liberal tree hugger or just a wimp this movie will be far too offensive for you." That's what one commenter wrote. I always thought it was the conservative element that were so opposed to bad language and sexual humor and that the liberal element in this country were the subversive types. I don't like getting into politics on the comment board, but from now on, it would nice not to pigeonhole a whole group of people based on your own ignorance. That's all I'm going to say...As far as the movie itself. I thought they did a good job with the commentary. After watching "The Aristocrats" it was good to see Bob Saget involved in something again with a lot of blue humor. This is the same Bob Saget you've seen on reruns of his popular family shows, but as anyone can attest who's seen him elsewhere, his common PAX-watching fans will find this film highly offensive."Farce of the Penguins" is a great parody of, you guessed it "March of the Penguins" but, you won't get a warm feeling from this movie unless you pee your pants laughing. I can't add anymore to other comments as to the storyline, but this movie was made on the cheap, but it is extremely funny, foul (or fowl) and is very 'tongue-in-cheek'. Watch it without the kids around, because this is not an episode of "America's Funniest Home Video's".
davideo-2 STAR RATING: ***** Saturday Night **** Friday Night *** Friday Morning ** Sunday Night * Monday Morning A made for video spoof of March of the Penguins, with Samuel L Jackson taking over narrating duties with a much sharper tone, a much sassier attitude and a much fouler mouth! Some recent spoofs that have hit the cinemas, including Epic Movie and Date Movie, have been rather below par, so I thought there might be some hope with this video spoof of 2005's renowned documentary March of the Penguins. It looked inspired enough, right down to Jackson doing the voice-over, his harsh, commanding voice in contrast to Morgan Freeman's soft, gentle delivery in the proper film. But, really, that's all that is funny, the concept of the film. Or rather, how ridiculous the idea of talking penguins is. Not just talking penguins, farting penguins, penguins that get into arguments with the narrator, penguins that swear and talk like they're from Da Getto, and penguins that, well, make idiots of themselves. The material is sadly just not funny enough to rise it above the absurdity of the story, but there are, to be fair, worser spoofs out there at the moment and considering how cheaply it's all been put together (one penguin even jokes about hating appearing in this "stock footage filled piece of crap!") that's actually quite an achievement. **
