I'm not sure if it's the brilliant acting. Or the masterpiece story. This is mine, and should too be everyone else's, favourite movie. Every little bit of it generates shivers due to the extraordinarity and innovation of the movie. Both the actor, the scriptwriter, the director and everyone else behind this masterpiece are true masterminds. Weren't it for them, humanity would have been short of what defines it. If something is to be shown to later generations to define what mankind has achieved before them it would most certainly be this movie. Anything else would be blasphemy. This is what the Voyager Probe should have carried with it to space, because it isTHE SUMMIT OF HUMANITY

When I walked out of the theater back in the 70s, I had a glamorous smile on my face, I had just seen Flashback for the first time and I instantly knew it would become classic. In this 1969-film Fred Robsham makes his debut on the big screens, unknown and criticized, this young Norwegian delivers one of history's best performances. Playing the role of a German soldier Heinz Prulier stuck in WW2 who experiences the toughest time of his life, falling into depression and suffering from continuous Flashbacks from his previous life. Luckily his friend John Bauer (Pilar Castel) is there to support him; this is the beginning of a lifetime friendship. This is a story about life, war, depression and friendship. How Flashback has gone unnoticed from public attention is a great mystery. This movie is truly a masterpiece and if you have the option to get your hands on a copy, don't doubt a second.

Excellent movie this is! I didn't even knew they could do this kinds of films back then. I especially liked the scene when a soldier comes out of the forest and asks: Who was it? Who was it that did threw? What am I going to do with my shirt? It was a lot of emotions in that scene. I think it has a lot of common with other great war movies such as platoon, apocalypse now and Lilla jönssonligan 2. Epic storytelling all the way. I will definitely see more Italian war movies after seeing this one, because if other old Italian war movies are as good as this one than I will surely not be disappointed. I highly recommend Flashback because the freedom of speech is for real and it is a really good movie!

This is one of the best movies of all time. Flashback takes us on a journey we shall never forget - an epic war drama where Fred Robsahm, king of actors, stuns us with his incredible depth and charisma. In the end, we are left fully satisfied yet wanting more. When all is over, the only question remains that enigmatic line so beautifully delivered by Gianni Cavina: "Did he receive it in the 2nd?".Since this movie became available on certain cinema-loving websites in early 2010, it has been rediscovered and finally appreciated as what it truly is and always has been - the best movie of all time. Avatar, Godfather and Shawshank Redemption are good movies, but director Raffaele Andreassi showed us what a truly great movie looks like. This is indeed a work of art.
