It's no secret I enjoy revenge movies. My father recommended me this movie way back when I was just 15, way before I started creating in the revenge line of books but I didn't see it until recently. I'm glad I did too. There is no wasted time in this film The meat of the film are as the title suggests the four brothers, who take an average movie concept and elevate it into something that hits way close to heart. Even the characters that don't get a lot of screen time, especially Evelyn Mercer whom I felt sad for, which I'll fully admit.The relationship between the brothers feels realistic. As someone who is an older sibling by blood and became 'older brother' to some of my friends I can relate. This is a character driven film no doubt.The action is simple yet effective, nothing too flashy or too simplefied. The look and soundtrack of the movie also scratched an itch I didn't know I had.Will watch again, this is simply too enjoyable if you like these kinds of movies.

The film shows that no matter how much of a bad ass a person is, it is perfectly fine to mourn the loss of a loved one and do something about it. The moral the merciless, yet comedic Mercer brothers is family over everything.The reason that their saint-of-a-woman mother adopted them is that no one else would. They were the worst behaved kids in the streets of the Detroit, which is saying something. When people who knew Miss Mercer heard about her death, people were shocked. As Jack, the youngest and most 'innocent' said, "Who would kill the sweetest old lady in the goddamn world?" All of the brothers felt like this. Bobby, the most bad ass, is seen crying in the bathroom the first night back in his childhood home with his brothers. They want revenge for the cold-blooded murder of their mother-at all costs.Four Brothers is a great movie. It consists of guns, death, tear-jerker moments, funny, yet vicious cast, and, best of all, revenge. It leaves you with the following emotions throughout the movie: ready to kill somebody, wanting to cry alone in a dark room, and/or laughing hysterically.

This movie sounded rather good when I read about it. I do like a good revenge movie. Unfortunately it did not exactly live up to expectations. This is more an amateur rampage than a planned attempt to find out who the culprit is and exact revenge. A good chunk of the movie is spent with the four brothers mouthing off at each other. Another good chunk is spent with them very amateurishly running around waving guns and "interrogating" people. Somehow, mostly by sheer luck, they actually manage to get closer to their goal. Even the good cop in the movie behaves as a bloody amateur when confronted with what he knows is a crooked cop and of course gets the short end of the stick for his efforts.As if the amateurish behavior of the four brothers was not annoying enough they have thrown in a hysterical, supposedly Italian, girlfriend who is dumber than a doornail and excruciatingly frustrating when she shows up shouting, screaming and generally tries to sabotage the brothers attempts to get anywhere.The only thing mildly intelligent and entertaining about this movie was the ending when the brothers confronted the crooked cop and the main bad guy. I have to say that I did not see that coming. Otherwise the movie was pretty null to me. Technically it had no problem. It was decent enough shot and the actors did a quite good job of the roles they were given. It fell down big time on the script however. At least for me.

there has to be more movies like this! the perfect blend of ice cold crime yet a subtle heartfelt moment in which 4 brothers stick together at the worst of times. I could not possibly turn away from my TV when watching this as i was so indulged by the movie plot. i believe this really touch's on the hardships of life and reminds us about the things we take for granted, like our friends and family who are always there to support us,therefore i am giving this a well and truly earned 10 out of 10, a movie with crime, action and above all... emotion thank your for taking your time to read this and i hope this helps you to sum up an overall description of this movie, i would very highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great movie.
