The start was not interesting did not draw you into the story line and proceeded to be stuck in the basics to build a plot for way too long. The master chief appeared and the movie kicked up a gear or 2, but this didn't last very long and before you new it the movie was over. In all honesty i don't know much about the game, gathering from this episode/movie it is not a terribly interesting plot. i sat down to watch a science fiction action adventure and was terribly bored for 95% of the movie. They could have spent 1/3rd of the time investing in building the characters and a lot more time on the action. If there are more installments to come i hope the action picks up and if they want to spend a lot of time on the plot then make it interesting, not some soppy teenage daytime drama NOT A FAN o

The year is 2526. Thomas Lasky (Tom Green) struggles in training at the Corbulo Academy of Military Science on the planet Cirnicus-IV. He is a disappointment considering his illustrious military family. His only friend is fellow cadet Chyler Silva (Anna Popplewell). Humanity has ventured out to colonize other worlds. The big threat is expected to be colony insurrectionists. Then the planet is invaded by an alien army, the Covenant, which is kept secret from everybody except the higher ups.As a web mini-series, there is some good work with impressive F/X for the price. As a TV show, this is better than most Syfy channel work. It's more of an interesting road map of what a Halo TV show or movie could be. Tom Green is a relative newcomer. I've only seen him in a TV show called Camp. It's a different character with a completely different hair cut. Anna Popplewell is probably the only recognizable name and face. She does the only competent acting on the show. In the end, this is not about the acting or even the story. This is mostly a dry run to get the look, the style and the effects correct for something bigger later on. At least, that's the big hope for fans. Looking at what they have, I hope they dial back the shaky cam work. I also hope that they lose the slow-mo Michael Bay wannabe. This seems to be going for Battlestar Galactica and I think that's a good move. If they make a theatrical war movie, it's going to need more money, a lot more money. However I think there is a great horror movie available for a lot less cash.

There is a guy who don't really wants to be a solider. He gets sick and the movie ends. This was one of the most boring movies that i've ever watched. And yes I've played the game. i cant see how this could have 7.2 in ratings right know. 4 or 5 times I wanted to stop the movie. The story really sucks, and the movie is so unbelievable slow. I can't believe that I watched the hole one. Nothing is happening, there's a war but you almost never See anything about the war? And the love between these 2 guys, why even have it there? Come on! I would never recommend this movie to anyone. Save your time and look at another movie instead.

Somehow I stumbled upon this movie browsing through my Netflix queue and was glad I watched it. I'm hopeful they put out more movies like this. Its the first movie that I can actually say I have enjoyed even though its based of a video game, normally they try giving movies a very video game like first person shooter feel which really takes away from the story. This was totally not the case. The entire Halo world has been fascinating from the beginning and hopefully more content gets put out for it (comic books, games, etc.). Just like the video games the story takes the front seat and then delivers with good effects , cinematography, and action as a way to propel it they way good stories should be done always. Hurray for Bungie on this epic franchise.
