Kat Webb This movie is awesome! It is genuinely scary and I don't scare easily. Unlike a lot of other horror movies it doesn't try too hard to be scary. I was glued to my seat for the entire run of it.The "legend" of the UFO sightings at Rendlesham Forest has always been a personal interest of mine and I definitely think a lot more happened than the MoD are willing to let on. I cannot overstate how much this movie really puts shiny spit-polished Hollywood horror movies in their place. It didn't go over the top with its fictionalisation and seemed very plausible, apart from there are a few airports near the Rendlesham Forest area and they would definitely pick up the huge spacecraft as seen at the end on radar.A lot of found-footage movies tend to be quite lame, and the acting quite wooden, but not in "Hangar 10".Since we will never know what REALLY happened in December 1980 at RAF Woodbridge or what the base's operations were, it's really really great that a movie like this has been produced.
rich52 This movie makes the worst movie you have ever seen a potential Oscar nominee. Here is yet another installment of a complete movie done with hand-held video cameras. The characters of the girl and her friend with the video camera are alright, her boyfriend is a total jerk. Ninety percent of the movie is spent wandering through the woods and the ending is terrible. There is no real story-line, the dialogue is terrible, the acting is marginal (to the negative side), and it is boring. I will admit that the special effects in the last 5 minutes of the film are pretty good, but that is the only good thing to say about this abomination. If you enjoy wasting your time, this is the movie for you.
Crotchety Old Critic Another failed attempt to film in the style of the Blair Witch Project. The difference in this movie is that it takes place in England. Three young people decide to tackle a conspiracy known as 'Hanger 10', I'm guessing like the United States' Area 51. The movie was painfully slow, much like watching a train wreck in slow motion. The camera angles were worse than your average movie filmed in this manner. There seemed to be about two or three cameras, yet in some scenes it seems that there is a random third camera, (basically a camera not belonging to the main characters') almost as if the director was cheating for a better camera shot. If its going to try to be a videotape type film, it should stick with that.In the end there seemed to be no resolution, finishing anticlimactic, not really explaining some of the inconsistencies they encountered. After certain scenes you are left wondering what a particular situation was about, wondering how the characters survived.Overall I think it could have been a lot better. I would not be watching it a second time. In fact, I'm in the process of building a time machine so I can stop myself from seeing this.
Matthew Gill Very much in the mold of the Blair Witch Project and Willow Creek, Hangar 10 uses tension and atmosphere to create the scares rather than blood and gore. With the use of bleak English settings and eerie noises its up to you the viewer to imagine what is out there in the cold wet misty woods. Like all good found footage films Hangar 10 builds the tension progressively and takes you on a visual roller-coaster ride rather than displaying a crafted storyline or treating the viewer to complex characters. For me this film has everything it takes to make a great horror film, creepy setting, early jump scares, good effects, eerie unexplained noises, no hope for the films protagonists and most of all weirdness. Such a shame found footage doesn't lend to sequels too well as this is another classic that demands answers!!!
