masergela I've watched the movie itself. And in my opinion, though it wasn't good, neither bad at all. Noticed that there are scenes, I guess, were there with no apparent reason as it has no conversation at all. The actors were merely looking at each other, viewers could not imagine to what they were thinking or trying to portray and for which that scene was? Aside from the very slow character development, it misses to give more emphasize on the climax of the story. Honestly, I was left hanging. I would recommend it to my friends and I did enjoy it as a whole. I can somewhat relate to the story, if not the film was made in Argentina, I would say that, it's a copycat of my own life story. Honestly, I fell in love with the character of Mateo Chiarino (Martin), very manly and appealing to the story. Hope to see more of Mateo's movies.
ira - I watched the trailer and it was a little odd, but the score and reviews were very good so I decided to watch it. Honestly, in my opinion, it wasn't good at all. It was very long and tedious to watch. Every shot was very long for no apparent reason. There was very little dialogue and many pointless shots. The plot and character development was very slow. You can easily skip about half an hour or more in the middle, and things will remain unchanged. The only moderately interesting things happened in the last 20 minutes or so. In addition, I often found the characters' behaviour odd and unexplained. To conclude, I wouldn't recommend it and I didn't enjoy it.
Irishchatter Alright so we met a guy named Martin who is homeless and is looking to go to Buenos Aires. He then meets his childhood friend Eugenio who is staying with his aunts and uncles house for a while. He gives Martin a place to stay and they both live happily ever after in the end. The music was really annoying as the characters had only a few words to say and it was so boring when it took time for both of the boys to talk.Okish movie but I think it would have been better if there was less music in this!
startlepoint This film has beautiful colors, music, and atmosphere. The men are attractive yet don't have that artificially buffed-up gym look, which makes them all the more compelling. Sometimes, I wish the inevitable romance had moved along a little more quickly. Letting it linger (with predictable sexual innuendo) helps keep the audience in suspense, I suppose, but the delay is sometimes annoyingly coy. And I cannot understand why the character who had initiated the physical intimacy in the first place had to recoil after receiving that first kiss.Yes, I enjoyed watching the evolving romance of these two guys and their childhood reminiscence -- that is until they both smugly refer to the time they stoned a cat to death (and don't seem to feel any remorse). Somehow, this put a damper on my appreciation of their "sensitivity" and made me care about them less. If I could edit out those lines, I'd like the film much more. But come to think of it, the cat reference in the film might be a sinister narrative trick to make us realize that these two guys are, in reality, a couple of self-centered creeps whom we should care nothing about!
