The Couchpotatoes This movie certainly does deserve more then the low ratings it has. I wanted to give it 6.5 but that's not possible so a 6 it is. I can see why people dislike it, because they probably expected something completely else but it is what it is. It's a parody of horror movies with some stupid jokes, and that's what it is supposed to be. The stupider they are the funnier it gets. As soon as I saw Keegan-Michael Key was in it I was skeptical because I absolutely hate him in the TV-show "Planet's funniest animals", but in this movie he was actually not that bad. I even laughed out loud a couple times. Don't expect horror or anything even though there are a lot of bloody gory scenes because it's all too funny to be scared. I don't regret watching this at all.
Shopaholic35 Another movie that has been rated much lower then it deserves. Hell Baby is a great horror comedy parody with a good cast. Funnily, this movie is actually kind of scary and filled with tension. Usually you don't get a movie that is both scary and comical. It probably all comes down to the actors. They have real talent which helps to give the movie more impact. Of course there are still those too stupid for words moments but if you didn't expect it, what movie did you think you were watching?!?If I had to describe it I think it would be a cross between Rosemary's Baby and the original Scary Movie. It's based on an old classic but hasn't had the chance to get stale yet as we have not been forced to endure sequel after sequel...yet. So if you love the genre ignore the negative reviews and give it a go.
Norman Ramsey This movie is a very good example of the horror/comedy or dark comedy genre. It has a very talented and recognizable cast (even if they are not A list actors). It is basically meant to be a celebration and parody of the majority of modern horror films, much like "Scary Movie". However, this seems more fresh and original than the "Scary Movie" series has been lately. It hits on ever modern stereotype of horror, so do expect a few jump scares. This movie is not meant to be taken seriously so i would not suggest it to a person wanting a real horror film... That being said, this is a very funny movie and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh.
Anon Author This movie was a real breath of fresh air. I watch more horror than the average person and feel pretty jaded as far as story lines - I'm just so tired of the same old thing. This satire helped to relieve my suffering. The priests in particular were great in their spoofs of The Omen as well as Father Guido Sarducci. It was low budget but I liked the way the actors played their roles and they seemed to have a good rapport. The cops were pretty damned funny. I love independent horror and this just has the great feel of art…..people who really give a crap about the product instead of personalities and money. Reject corporate movies people and open your eyes to small movies that people care about.
