adonis98-743-186503 Gamers playing a MMORPG based on the "Hellraiser" films find their lives endangered after being invited to a rave, the host of which intends to show them the truth behind the Cenobite mythos. Hellraiser: Hellworld or also known as Hellraiser 8 is another disappointing and just terrible sequel to Hellraiser and unfortunately i was disappointed that both Henry Cavill and Lance Henrisken were in this one they truly deserved better than this alright? like common. Superman and Bishop in a movie together? and in this one? Disappointed. (4/10)
trashgang What is this, what has this to do with Hellraiser, nothing at all, sure the lament configuration is there and there's an online game but let that be all. And pinhead do appears but he isn't what he is used to be. No punishment at all, okay, here we do have back some cenobites but that's it.Pinhead is really forced into the story to make a Hellraiser flick but it didn't work at all. He do uses his one-liners but it's so forced and I really got pity with Bradley that he was involved in this little stinker. Also, it's the first Hellraiser with that amount of nudity. Sadly, it doesn't add a thing to Hell. It's also the franchise that we see Bradley performing for the last time as pinhead, Revealtions (2011) was the follow-up and we all knew what that was, a flop.Gore 0,5/5 Nudity 1,5/5 Effects 2/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5
fedor8 How the hell did Lance manage to dig out five graves in such a short amount of time? Why didn't he do it earlier, BEFORE the whole show started? How is it that among a hundred people at the party NOBODY saw him dig graves? WHY would he go out of his way to stage such an elaborate revenge when he clearly didn't have a good relationship with his dead son? How could he know that all five of his intended victims would show up? Couldn't he think of a simpler and less expensive way of rounding up the five of them in order to torture them? What was the point/logic of that last scene when Lance suddenly appears behind the love-birds: didn't he just get split into bits by the cenobites? Just a few questions that expose the numerous plot-holes in this badly constructed script.Still, at least there was a plot-twist – as absurd as it was from a logical standpoint. Although, given what "Hellraiser" movies 5-7 were like, any fan of the franchise must have known in advance that the five teens weren't experiencing reality. The franchise had started repeating itself, instead of simply going back to the simpler formula of the first 2-3 movies. The metal/rock soundtrack ruins the mood on numerous occasions. I have to say this for the billionth time: just because a lot of metal and some rock deal with demons, murder and destruction does NOT mean that kind of music suits horror films. It bloody doesn't. Compare this pathetic soundtrack to that of the first few movies.
Glen McCulla 'Hellraiser: Hellworld' is the eighth film in a series of movies (i despise the dreaded word franchise!) that is as undead and unkillable as shambling revenant Uncle Frank from the classic original - something that many people declared creatively dead a long time ago, and yet found the energy from somewhere to keep on twitching.Released upon an uncaring world in 2005, i have only just today, in 2013, got round to sitting down and watching this instalment: having read Doug (Pinhead) Bradley's memoirs "Behind the Mask: Confessions of a Horror Film Actor" quite some time back, Mr Bradley himself did not exactly paint a great or happy picture of the last few Rick Bota helmed instalments in the series - confessing that at the time of writing he had not even watched the film in question. I therefore went in with some trepidation, and suitably lowered expectations. What we got was a fairly routine if competently made slasher movie / whodunnit, with Hellraiser elements grafted on, which is par for the course with any Hellraiser instalment after part four: Dimension Films seem to have used a few spliced-in scenes of Pinhead and the Lament Configuration Box to spruce up any old script that was lying around the office. As i said, however, it is at least decently crafted, with nice production design and some nice directorial flourishes, but it is the cast that make the film worth watching. I don't just mean the gorgeous Katherine Winnick in her crop top and leather pants: but that certainly didn't have my attention wandering at all (Ms Winnick is, in my estimation, the Hellraiser series' fourth hottest chick: after Ashley Laurence, Paula Marshall and Sasha Barrese). The standout cast members are undoubtedly the legend that is Lance Henriksen - yet again unphased in the face of drivel, and never knowingly phoning in a performance, and most amusingly of all Henry Cavill, star of the forthcoming 'Man of Steel'. For the concept of Pinhead Vs. Superman alone, this film deserves its place on my DVD shelf! (PS: SPOILERS: Kal-El comes off second best).
