Bizarrely, this is one of three similar Hercules-themed movies released around the same time; the other two were rival Hollywood products whereas this is the Asylum rip-off version. That it was shot in a sun-drenched Morocco is the only redeeming feature this film has. It's the usual mix of poorly-plotted nonsense, with a small cast reciting trite dialogue and trying to look all macho in their armour and out of it. There's little in the way of action and the occasional bit of violence thrown in to appease adult audiences, but generally this is hard work and exactly what you'd expect from The Asylum.

While some of the acting is acceptable, there's really nothing about this story that connects to the story of Hercules in Crete. No spoilers about the plot, but suffice it to say that it's sufficiently convoluted to be uninteresting. The 2 stars go specifically to the effort of the actors and not to the plot or direction. The quest for a really good Hercules movie continues....

When a young man's bride is kidnapped by an evil king, he turns to Hercules for help. The fallen hero has been living in exile, banished for killing his family, but the young man's courage inspires Hercules. Together, they fight to rescue the bride and reclaim the honor of Hercules. If i wanted to see Hercules pee and drink all the time and crying over his family i would have watched an even worse film than this maybe Alexander. The biggest problem of the film except the fact that is cheap as hell it's the fact that Ex WWE Superstar John Morrison or Johnny Nitro plays Hercules and he is so bland that it made me wish to go back and watch the film with Kellan Lutz.

I accidentally stumbled on this film while searching for the other one with The Rock, believing it was the same one. I was wrong and would end up being subjected to 90 minutes of pretty much nothing.This film is titled Hercules Reborn, but has very little to do with him. His story is only a side plot and he has very little screen time. It is about Arius and his quest to bring down the guy who kidnaps his girlfriend, Princess Theodora and has taken over the kingdom.Too many things annoyed me about this film, but I will go into only a few. Firstly the general (can't remember his name) was a complete and total loser. There was no reason anyone would follow him, yet they did without question, even going against their own moral compass to carry out his order. It seemed way too scripted.Secondly when they do find Hercules, he is just some alcoholic who does not even appear to have superhuman strength. Then later on we learn he has ties to the evil general, which pretty much comes out of left field WTF??? Talk about poor writing.I won't mention everything else that is wrong with this film, as there is just too much. This is simply terrible cinema and only watch it if you feel like torturing yourself.
