adriel-matos I found this "movie" on Netflix and the first thing that caught my eyes was the title. I thought to myself, "Is this real?". I couldn't believe it, so it was my job to check it out, and what a surprise! It's not good. Matter of fact, it's incredibly boring. For being about drug dealing, FBI investigations, and also might I add being based on a true story. The overall execution was flat and uninspired. How can you mess it up? Well, to start it all off in the credits "GOD" is the executive producer. I wish I made this up, but it's real! Look it up for yourself! You know what? Scratch that, don't do it. The positive parts: T-Bone and his music. I remember listening to his album "Bone-A-Fide" when I was little and it was my favorite album back then. Now my knowledge for music has grown immensely and I don't find him to be that good of a rapper, but still I find him very enjoyable. It was a surprise to see him in the movie and he was actually not that bad. I could see him portrayed as a drug dealer and it was a joy to see him. Also, Michael Madsen was okay. The negative parts: Everything else. No seriously, everything. The cinematography was bad, the movie looked like a TV-movie, the movie is unnecessarily long, and the acting was horrendous. Ja Rule was so bad. I know that not that many rappers can act, but my God was he bad. BUT! In some scenes, he did manage to give a "so bad it's good" type of performance. The only problem is that it takes such a long time to see him give his "all" (I use that term lightly), that your already bored or you're looking at your phone from the boredom. Adrienne Bailon lost her charm from the "Cheetah Girls" movies and was instead lackluster. I was shocked seeing Michael Madsen, Martin Kove and Stephen Baldwin in this movie. They could have done something better or at least give a good performance. They could have been the stand-outs, but instead they came for the pay-checks. Even though, the movie was a big flop. I thought that this movie was going to be a "so bad it's good" type, and boy was I wrong. In conclusion, the movie is long, boring, and the acting is horrible. However, most importantly the movie lost its potential to be a "so bad it's good" movie. T-Bone was surprisingly okay and so was Michael Madsen. These small positives those not at all overweight the negative parts about the movie. So, I would say skip it. You're not missing out anything.
bahram1 Everyone but the hardest atheists should give this a go. The mechanism of conversion is interesting but the subject is hardly ever used in films. Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus dramatically changed the course of Western history. Malcolm X said before his conversion, there was nothing he wouldn't do for money, and after converting, no amount of money could tempt him to transgress. Such transitions are among the greatest spiritual upheavals. The change portrayed in this film was realistic and interesting and should be food for thought. Recommended viewing for all, also quite entertaining and well made and two hours passes quickly.
bowleglewis This film is reminds me of when I was a youth as I started out on the same path this young man did for all the wrong reasons. Redemption is usually a prerequisite from something you was not proud of in prior things in your life and I think this film touches on a person can change once he or she excepts Christ in your life as your Lord and savior. The story balances on loyalty for his Family,God,friends, woman, and his faith they are all portrayed in some capacity through out the film and the level of trust he had in God is often questioned. This movie really touches on reality in most inner city youths path that can be changed if given the correct motivation and in this film its his love for his family and his woman. I really enjoyed watching the transformation of the character as you find yourself pulling for them too succeed and getting them on the right path too a promising future. I recommend this movie to anyone that has been on a disruptive path and think all is lost when in reality God's love can bring you through any storm if you except him as your Lord and savior
KaSteesha Cosby I was able to go experience the tour for the movie in Mississippi. All of the clips had me "coo coo for cocoa puffs' so I knew that I would be going to the theater soon. I was glad to not have been disappointed. The movie was shot really well (great cameras) and many of the actors and actresses were phenomenal. Being able to attend the tour, it was cool to know the background story of what actually happened and the connection that T-Bone had with Galley (Montego) in real life years ago. God is real, God is powerful, and God can and will redeem. The very name of Jesus sends chills through my body because of what He has done and what He is doing this very day. This movie should be able to reach anyone. It wasn't made necessarily for Christians to be entertained, but for the "yet to believe" folks to come to hear about a mighty God of grace, love, and His relentless pursuit to have an intimate relationship with His children. I received from this movie that people can't change people no matter how pure our intentions nor can we give up on others despite how things may look. God didn't give up on us in which He used someone else to share Him with us. He does the work. We are only His vessels.
