ThiefOfStars I must admit that when I first saw the trailer for this on Youtube the low-budget cinematography almost put me off. Almost. Fortunately, the premise alone intrigued me enough to give it a chance anyway. The story centres around an imaginative but troubled little girl called Emma who is under the care of her grandparents due to her mother's recent death and John, her grieving father's reluctance to face up to his responsibilities. In this world there are 2 inter-dimensional factions that co-exist unseen alongside the human world; the dream-giving 'Storytellers' and the nightmare inducing 'Incubi'. One night, after having been visited by a Storyteller, Emma's soul is kidnapped by an Incubi, simply known as 'Ink' who hasn't quite earned his stripes yet and needs her to use as a bargaining chip so that he can become part of the Incubi elite. In real life, Emma consequently falls into a coma and is taken to hospital but when John is still reluctant to come to his daughter's aid, the storytellers must work together to save her from the Incubi's clutches by helping John face up to his responsibilities as a father and Ink to realise his true identity. I think you will enjoy this movie, if like me, you are intrigued by subjects like metaphysics, dreams, time travel etc.; the scene in which the audience witnesses how the Storytellers manipulate the events that led up to an earlier scene in the movie which results in John being in a car crash and having to be taken to the hospital where his daughter is lying in a coma had me holding my breath (if only because it visually depicted something I've thought about myself.) I'm glad I saw 'Ink' in spite of its ugly cinematography and I can tell it was a real passion project for its creators.
bombbob This Movie was gr8 Ink killed the child and created nightmares but then a kangaroo eat him THE END OK 10/10 Autists are GR8 GG LOLOLOL An essay is, generally, a piece of writing that gives the author's own argument — but the definition is vague, overlapping with those of an article, a pamphlet, and a short story. Essays have traditionally been sub-classified as formal and informal. Formal essays are characterized by "serious purpose, dignity, logical organization, length," whereas the informal essay is characterized by "the personal element (self- revelation, individual tastes and experiences, confidential manner), humor, graceful style, rambling structure, unconventionality or novelty of theme," etc.[1]
altersaege Definitely different from anything I have seen before. I have the feeling that there is more than Cinema behind this. It feels like some kind of shamanistic art. It has got a kind of positivity which is not emotionally naive, not new age, not rhetorical or superficial, not moral or religious. It is a deeper kind of positivity, and it is brought into a visually fascinating movie with a good script, good acting, and a pleasant soundtrack. You just have to be prepared to a different experience than what you get every day from Hollywood. Although this is not a complicated intellectual movie, and it does not feel heavy at all, it may require a little more commitment than a popcorn movie or a easy going no-think "feel good" movie.
Adri placelove Ink has a really simple idea: There are two forces which fight for our souls, when we are asleep. The good one, called storyteller, give good dreams of hope and joy and happiness. The bad one, called incubus, (and this bad boys are maybe one of the frightening villains i have ever seen and i don't even know why...) give really bad nightmares including our biggest fears and anguishes. One night a little girl (Emma) gets kidnapped by a creature (Ink), who wants to give her as a sacrifice, so he can belong to the incubus. a few difficulties appear so it takes a bit longer to find his way to the leader of the incubus. In this time, the fighter, who was given the task to protect the girl tries to save Emma. She gets help from a so called "pathfinder" (Jacob), who is able to intervene the real world, which isn't possible for normal storytellers...Ink is a movie, of which i hadn't expected a lot. And to be true: at the beginning, i was disappointed, cause the clear structure of good and bad was way to simple. But with the time most of the characters became really interesting and especially Jacob is still one of my absolutely favorite movie characters of all time. The ending is amazing and i haven't seen it coming this way. The music is awesome and certainly one of the reasons, why i was moved to tears. But its the way the movie is made: The camera, the light, the colors, the atmosphere, the insanity, which make it one of the best movies i have seen in a while. Probably it could have been produced a bit better, with a few more effects or famous actors, but I think the indie, low-budget style is the best way it could have been made. So all in all: A very underestimated awesome indie- movie.
