thefesterboys Jackass is actually pretty deep when you look beyond the funny guys breaking bones. Chris Pontius represents the devil, as shown towards the start of the film where he dances around in Hollywood dressed as Satan. This is showing us what he truly is, a devil. He's the reason the guys break themselves, because he has their minds. Ehren however, has figured out the happenings and is depressed because of it. He does not want to participate in the stunts because he knows Pontius is holding onto his brain and he only participates when forced into stunts, or when Pontius properly has control of him, so this movie is not in chronological order and we can see different points in time. We swap between when Pontius has and does not have control of Ehren's brain. You can easily spot the torment Ehren feels when he's around Pontius/when he does stunts before and after he figures out what has happened. To add to this, the songs Pontius will play on his guitar are to keep the boys under his spell. In short, this movie has many layers few people recognize, and i will continue to analyze this film during future viewings
Filipe Neto This movie is the film adaptation of a shameful American television series where crazy people make things even more crazy, and seem happy about it. Directed by Jeff Tremaine, is starring Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius and others whom I cannot call actors, or artists, in order not to insult, thus, the real actors and artists from any country.Unfortunately, film is more of an industry than an art today. And when money speaks louder than judgment or logic, it happen these shameful and unfortunate films, that should never have even been imagined. Not worth wasting my time to analyze what went wrong in this movie because EVERYTHING went the hard way that could run. This is not a movie, isn't worthy of these name. It's garbage, pure waste of time for those who see it and worse, it had sequelae! It's like those pests that affect plants and never come out of there! When trying to see this film (I couldn't for more than ten minutes, I think we need to be totally devoid of intelligence to be able to see it completely!), I found myself reflecting on the decay of the human race. We are at a time when we could be all, achieve knowledge as never had and improve our behavior through more human and beneficial values. But we are wasting these opportunity choosing to worship the idiocy and stupidity. This film, and all that followed, is proof of that. I hope that Darwin is right and natural selection do its job properly, for the good of humanity.P.S.: I gave this movie a star because IMBb's system does not allow us to rate below zero to a movie.
Seth Landers Holy toledo, too many closed-minded and moronic pessimistic haters saying false things about this movie! It's not your typical movie. Of course there's a minimal story, it's an 85 minute "Jackass" episode. The characters are the cast from the infamous hit MTV show.So many laughs during this movie. A bunch of brave men, I'd say. Doing heroic things that most people don't even have the guts to do. Sure, there are disgusting scenes in it, some painful comic violence, and the stunts they do can be completely absurd at times. The whole point is that it's for your entertainment, that's why they are so appealing to watch!Henry Rollins, Tony Hawk, Eric Esch, Bam Margera's friends & parents, George Hruska, Naoko Kumagai, and Mat Hoffman make wonderful cameo appearances in the process of their production.I completely respect Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, Ryan Dunn (R.I.P.), Chris Pontius, and all the other Jackass cast & crew. Never has a documentary full of brilliant people attempting to do dumb stuff been so experimental that it ironically succeeds. This movie has high replay value and I feel honored to own a copy of it on DVD. Don't take it seriously, laugh, enjoy the Jackass cast, and you'll have a fun night!
wes-connors Appropriately labeled "dickhouse production," this is a movie version of the MTV show. "Jackass" had been in the news for encouraging viewers to try the stunts they see on television, resulting in injuries. The film version features even more dangerous stunts. The opening advises, "do not attempt any of the stunts you're about to see," but everyone knows someone who did this stuff anyway. We begin with Johnny Knoxville smashing up a rental and trying to return it to the dealer; something similar was done by Bob Barker on "Truth or Consequences". Jeff Tremaine takes Steve-O, Ban Margera, Chris Pontius and the rest to Japan for many of the stunts. The men shed their clothing and put their balls on the chopping block. Some of the skits are entertaining, but they venture into repulsive. The end result leaves a stench.** Jackass the Movie (10/21/02) Jeff Tremaine ~ Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius
