lois-lane33 I think that Katy Perry is about "girl empowerment"-that is to say I think she wants girls to be proud of themselves-and teenage girls as well-so instead of doing what everybody else does- she is an original who is not like the other female singers out there whose are mostly about 'being a Femme Fatale.' Britney Spears even named one of her albums 'Femme Fatale.' Most young women would rather be themselves and have fun than pretend to be some kid of "ultimate female" or 'Femme Fatale.' (some people define a Femme Fatale as a woman who by virtue of her good looks lures men into dangerous situations-but I think it means a woman who is all about being the focus of every mans attention) I think KP appeals to the group of young women who don't take themselves too seriously which I think is a good thing. I am a fan of many different types of music and I like to hear about how someone decided to do what they do in music. This film had plenty of material that gives a look into the life of the performer and why she does what she does. I think attempting a tour that lasted forever probably contributed to her marital problems- which were sad to see in the film. Her positive attitude is contagious and her voice is often surprisingly good in terms of what she is capable of doing sonically when she really gets going. There isn't much talent out there in the music biz today so I think its good to see someone who has got singing talent and I like her crazy costumes-not 'totally nuts' like Lady Gaga-just colorful and playful-which makes her shows fun & sexy.
Jihad F Haidar I'm a HUGE KatyCat, and Katy is one of my biggest role models, she's talented, kind and is a living proof that if you can be yourself, you can be anything. Katy tells us to live our life with fun, and no regrets, life is too short to be anything but happy! The movie is made of concert scenes, behind the scene and home footage, and more. It talks about Katy's life, and how she became what she is today, and follows her to her 2011 successful tour, California Dreams Tour. She talks about her childhood and past, and her family, team and other celebrities (Jessie J, Adele, Rihanna etc..) are also introduced as guests too.I guess it's suitable for her fans, and even some of her non-fans too. See the movie and I bet you won't be disappointed!
pyrogenica I think the words "boring" don't do justice to this dull and self indulgent egotistical extravaganza. It's difficult to find enough words in my vocabulary to describe the utter mediocrity of this vane auto biopic of Katy Perry's shallow little world. The patronizing little cameo of the poor "make a wish" child visiting was little short of vomit inducing, and the sycophantic way that Perry fawned over Russel Brand actually did leave me tasting vomit in my mouthThe two nieces who accompanied me (8 & 10) begged me to rent this, and they begged me to take them home within 30 minutes of the start. I didn't expect too much of MTV, their level is Beavis and Butthead, on a good day. This was clearly not a good day
Andie Similon This movie is just awesome! Katy Perry performs very well! She is sexy and smart. I hope more movies with Kate Perry will follow, I can't wait to see more of her. Then, to say a few words about the movie itself: the story is great, and the plot is unpredictable. It was only after watching the movie for the third time that I understood the story, I think. Well, in fact, you can keep watching this movie time after time, because the story lines and characters are rather complex. I think that this complexity explains why the movie is rated so low. I don't want to offend anybody, but I think many people don't understand the movie while watching it for the first time, just like myself. I regret that those people give a low rating, instead of watching the movie a few more times. It is really worth the effort to understand the movie! I cannot go into more detail, because I don't want to spoil it for those who managed to understand the movie finally. There is however one thing I want to share, something that has not been mentioned on any forum about the movie yet... when I was watching the movie for the seventh time, I discovered that the scenery of the movie looks totally different when you watch the movie through pink sunglasses. The Barbie kind of atmosphere gets filtered out a little bit (it is somewhat softened), and this gives the movie an even more erotic touch. You should really try this out, because it is hard to explain. I hope this review can contribute to convince people to take this movie serious, and give it the rating it deserves. Enjoy this fantastic movie, and don't forget your pink sunglasses ;-)
