arclt I would have given this movie a 1 except for Diane Lane. She tried...the movie is just dumb. The character of Nix is obnoxious...Rourke should have shot him the day he met him.
Claudio Carvalho When the professional killer Armand 'Blackbird' Degas (Mickey Rourke) falls in disgrace with the Mafia, he flees to another city in Canada. He stumbles upon the psychopath Richie Nix (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who lives with his girlfriend Donna (Rosario Dawson). Armand teams up with him and moves to his house. Richie summons Armand to participate in a scheme to take money from a wealthy real estate agent, but he commits a mistake and the couple Wayne Colson (Thomas Jane) and Carmen Colson (Diane Lane) witness their action. They are forced to join the Witness Protection Program by the FBI and they move to another town. But Armand and Ritchie are hunting them down since they are a thread. "Killshot" is a surprisingly good thriller, with great story and cast. The screenplay is well-written and builds tension, despite the commercial conclusion. My vote is six.Title (Brazil): "Killshot - Tiro Certo" ("Killshot - Right Shot")
vintagevalor-2 If I live to be a thousand I will never understand how some viewers arrive at their opinion. I truly think some people look to see what others have said about a film and if the majority are negative then they jump in with THEIR negative review. I fail to see how people see pictures like this and automatically decide it'a "a piece of crap" It is not! KILLSHOT is a very descent film. Good acting and strong performances by Micky Rourk and Diane Lane. Good suspense. Good story that I find very plausible. Elmore Leonard wrote the novel from wince the film comes. A descent picture with a fine performance by Micky Rourk, who is a dam fine actor! To all those naysayers who wrote disparaging reviews... What are you looking for? Perfection in everything that ever gets made? All of you must be very sad to discover there is very little perfection in anything.
Rodrigo Amaro A unusual partnership between a experienced killer (Mickey Rourke) and a psychotic robber (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) on their mission to track down a couple (Diane Lane and Thomas Jane) who ruined their robbery at a real estate agency is the premise of "Killshot", an adaptation of Elmore Leonard's book. Tension and some action is built in the plot where the main attractive thing is the killer team and many thrilling moments."Killshot" doesn't offer anything new except making of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character a dangerous and bigmouth one, the main surprise in the film, since he doesn't play this kind of guy very often. Along with the great Mickey Rourke, they are responsible for the best sequences of the film. The most absurd and bizarre aspect of "Killshot" is present two villains that most of the audiences will relate with, opposite of a unsympathetic couple as the good guys in the story which is hard to care for. Since there's almost zero percent of originality (excpet in one short moment with Hal Holbrook, a very good scene) and it's not much of a smart action film it goes for 9 stars. It's entertainment value flies high. John Madden, of "Shakespeare in Love" fame, directs great action sequences (the robbery in the real estate agency being the most interesting) but delivers less than we could possibly expect from a film of this size.
