3_the_monkey I just wasn't feeling it to be honest, Liam Neeson was obviously faultless and everything was in the films favour, acting production but it was just a bit dull really.... Not being an American but having 'some' knowledge and interest in the Watergate scandal I kept watching it just for the knowledge really, but even then it felt like it came up short.... I feel like maybe I am doing the film an injustice by not being American, maybe I would have appreciated it more if I was and had a better background of the scandal itself, therefore I could appreciate the man more.
suemarum I didn't wink through out the whole movie! Great actors, the plot, the tension! Made we want to read about Watergate!!
Gordon-11 This film tells the story of the deputy chief of the FBI, who is not given the promotion that he thought he would get. He then goes on to expose the biggest political scandal of all time.It is interesting that this film does not concentrate on external events at all, so you don't get to see who the seven people who got arrested are, or what evidence the agents have uncovered. It only deals with what Mark Felt have seen or heard, so most of the film occurs in the office. Because of this, viewers who are unfamiliar with the Watergate scandal will have to read about it in advance in order to fully understand the plot. It is a thrilling story, especially the fact that Mark Felt must have endured enormous pressure during that time, and all the subsequent years of his life.
ratiocinator I was unfamiliar with the Watergate scandal before watching this movie. I am still unfamiliar with it. The storytelling of this movie is beyond awful; its structure is terrible. It was made by writers and a director that clearly lack talent. Furthermore, Liam Neeson's deliberate pitch-shifting was irritating.
