ABSOLUTELY epic. Incedable sword fights, Colossal battles, mammoth Cinematography, with intriguing dialog. Costumes draw you in by caching your eye. What is said matters. Character's depth and evolution touches your heart. Some slow parts great film without the "It" factor. A picture that other films will be measured by! One of my much watch picks.

Due to the average IMDb rating and Metascore, I sit down with low expectations to watch Antoine Fuqua's 2004 movie, King Arthur. If you can do, watch the director's cut, because it is much better than the theatrical cut, such as in Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven. There are a lot of advantages and maybe just one, but a huge mistake of this movie. The cast is excellent. Although I personally don't like Clive Owen, but he was really good in this film, such as the supporting actors, like Keira Knightley, Ioan Groffud, Joel Edgerton, Ray Stevenson and the Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. The music is amazing. Hans Zimmer is definitely the best composer of nowadays. The visual effects are also great. Antoine Fuqua has a quite unique directing style, but it's really matches with the story and visual style of this film. The only huge mistake of King Arthur is it's story. There are huge plot holes, which makes the characters and the battles unentertaining and useless. If the story would be just acceptable, than this film would be nearly as good as great historical movies of the 21st century, such as Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven or Wolfgang Petersen's Troy. The Director's Cut is definitely worth a watch, but sit down with low expectations, and don't except a Christopher Nolan movie-type story.7/10

In short, prefer « Excalibur » than this poor crap : sure the production is well done and the landscapes, winter, mineral colors really pulse the Celtic soul. Sure it's interesting to have historical facts between Romans, Saxons, Britons and Samartians ( ?) and i appreciate the efforts to do realistic and timely furniture ! But i don't have this western mind anymore to indulge into the heroics of the courageous leader and his blind followers all killing for liberty ! I'm just fed up with this soup history we are forced to gulp : spilling blood, raping women, making orphans can't come from a truly human inspiring figure. Sure, once you kill every one to dissent, you have every body agree ! Besides this, the movie shows terrible flaws : to start with the movie with the knights and not Arthur is stupidly forgetting just the core of the movie (remember its title ?), Keira has a warrior is a sad sight and the poor Skarsgard still pollutes my movie with his lack of anything that made him here a really pitiful villain! RUS!

Watched King Arthur Feauturing Clive Owen(Closer) as Arthur ,Ioan Gruffudd(Titanic) as Lancelot ,Joel Egerton(Star Wars:Attack Of The Clones) as Gawain , Ray Winstone(Cold Mountain) as Bors The Younger ,Hugh Dancy(Tempo) as Galahad , Ray Stevenson(Serenity) as Dagonet , Mads Mikkelson(Rejseholdet) as Tristan , Kiera Knightley(Pirates Of The Carribbean:Curse Of The Black Pearl ) As Guinevere ,Stephen Dillane(Hamlet) as Merlin ,Stellan Skarsgard(Good Will Hunting) as Cedric , While film had a solid cast and acting it was disappointing to see the Legend Of King Arthur as part of the Rome when it really was set in middle ages though it did manage to save itself somewhat with some of the best sword fights and action.Fantastic Cinematography by Slawomir Idziak(Black Hawk Down), Production Design By Paul Cross(B.U.S.T.E.D) Costume Design By Penny Rose(Mission:Impossible) ,Amazing Writing By David Franzoni(Gladiator) , Amazing Score from Hans Zimmer(The Last Samurai) and Direction By Antoine Fuqa(Training Day) An OK Retelling of The Legend of King Arthur 7/10
