ankushmaheshwari-17 The story of an uncertain young man who eventually finds his Lakshya (Goal). The journey of becoming passionate, and a motivated Indian Army officer from a casual, and a lethargic individual has been told beautifully. The direction, the plot, the songs, and the choreography gel well with the overall theme of the movie. The occasional humor at one or two places in the movie to an otherwise serious story-line is engaging. The Cinematography is aesthetically appealing to the eyes. The several backdrops of the region of the Baramula, and the Kargil are breathtaking. The movie was shot at few places of New Delhi. Tuglakabad fort is one of these places. Being a resident of Delhi, you might find it interesting. The cast and the crew of the movie have many celebrated actors. Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, and Om Puri have done the justice to their characters. Boman Irani could have done better, though. The main character of the movie has been played by Hrithik Roshan. He has been very expressive. The transition of his character from being a very casual human being to a very passionate and a motivated individual has been enacted really well by him. He has danced admirably to justify the amazing choreography of Prabhu Deva.Preity Zinta was elegant in playing a character of a young independent working woman who had a vivid interest in Journalism. Farhan Akhtar has done his job well. You might find it interesting that one of the many background scores employed in this movies has been used in his movie 'Rock-On'. Farhan Akhtar essentially has drawn inspiration from this movie for his upcoming releases.Overall a very balanced and an engaging cinematic experience.
leonardsimpson Lakshya revolves around Karan Shergil, who is a carefree college guy with a girlfriend. The character of Karan is somewhere like all of us, as he does not thinks too much about whats going on around him, does not have a very cordial relationship with his typical Indian father and gets constantly compared to his brother. The film is beautifully shot especially the scenes of kargil.Farhan Akhtar has done a very good job with this film, and for me this is his best work till date. Music of the film is good too but the background score is awesome. It gives you all the kicks and goosebumps in the combat and war scenes.Since the dialogues of the film are written by javed akhtar therefore the film keeps you gripped with the story line.Amitabh Bachchan is perfect, his awesome articulation of the amazing lines written by javed akhtar is unprecedented.Amitabh should have gotten a "best supporting actor"prize for this movie.Priety zinta and all other actors are fine too. Needless to mention about the fine work done by Hrithik Roshan.I know the movie is "defence aspirants' " must watch but i think everybody should watch this at least once. And yea since some part of the movie is shot in the IMA,so those scenes are priceless.
shalugal One of the best movies of both Hrithik and Farhan. Please make more such amazing and sensible movies. It should have rocked the BO though.Sadly, people prefer mindless action over such heartfelt and genuine movies. Kudos! And Hrithik your Best acting till date as the army officer! Controlled expression and those intense eyes! Not to forget Priety Zinta as the brave reporter. In fact every character in the film added to the beautiful experience. Lets not forget the songs, meaningful, beautiful and romantic. Go watch everyone.Hrithik deserved the best actor in all the award shows and Farhan the best director. The movie is so relevant even today. All in all we need more such movies.
Aditya Kannan I saw Lakshya two years after its release. I just loved this war film. It was technically brilliant like the camera-work, audiography, etc. I think Lakshya is one of the best war films made in India.India should be proud of Lakshya and Farhan Akhtar. Lakshya is set in the 1999 Kargil war between India and its neighbor Pakistan. This war is very important in Indian history. This was a war where hundreds of soldiers died for their motherland and Lakshya was a befitting tale on the war as its backdrop.Farhan has directed the film very realistically without making it too jingoistic like LOC Kargil. This film gives complete respect to the Indian Military Academy and the Indian army. The film shows that if a human being wants to achieve something in life, he can do it, come what may if he puts his heart and soul into it and that is what Karan Shergil did in the film. The performances are top notch. I have always liked Hrithik Roshan and he is marvelous in this film. He is the best dancer in India. Amitji is also very good. Very strong acting from AB. Om Puri, another great actor should have been given more footage but he was also excellent. Preity was good. Overall, amazing experience.
