Stephanie-N I originally found this film because of the director's youtube channel (The Receptionist.) I watched it back in 2010, and the film has always stuck with me ever since. It's funny, it's original, and the writing was terrific. The character's kept on surprising me, and the plot had the perfect amount of twists. I feel like most people don't give the film a chance because of the low budget, but it gave the film a unique feel. The sets were very limited, and not the best quality, but it made you like the film even more. The movie was great on it's own merit, with no fancy frills to distract you from the writing. Over-all I would say it is definitely the time.
evilsanta12345 I have to say I find this movie excellent. I am a film student in High School and was recommend it by my teacher. I watched this in Netflix and really enjoyed it. This is one of the the first movie's I seen where the main character does not move from a 3x3 foot area (except for the occasional flashbacks projected by Lo.) The actors were great and the storyline even better. I'm a sucker for love story's with a dark twist and with this movie I got exactly what I wanted. I was even more surprised of how well bits of dark humor were incorporated. Also a great example of a well-done low budget film. I would honestly like to see money invested in more quality, original, pieces like this one than some of the crap that's being put out today. Taught me I didn't need a lot of money or the most expensive equipment out there to make a movie worth watching.
gigan-92 A+ Thru the wonder of Netflix, I saw this glorious film. I know some say the film industry is dead these days, though it's highly debatable, but this film is a living testament that just isn't so. Obviously done on a relatively small budget, the film will upset those expecting a large extravagant production scale. No, this film is shot like a play actually, which makes for some interesting and creative cinematography. The majority of the movie takes place in a darkened room; the only things that can be seen are the two main characters who are illuminated by spot lights. The exchange of dialogue is comedic and also well written. Lo, the titular demon, is played extremely well by Jeremiah Birkett , and I mean extremely well. And Ward Roberts is also damn good. The demon Geez (Devin Barry) is a great character and some question the acting of Sarah Lassez but I found her very enjoyable. Oh, and did I mention there are some great musical numbers in this one? Yeah, so it's a horror-comedy-musical with a dash of mystery. With some very nice writing to boot, very nice, I can recommend the film to anyone with an appreciation for the unusual.
ambercederman What a fascinating movie. That's really the best way to describe it: fascinating. There is something about Lo that is strangely intriguing. It's hard to explain. The plot is very simply. A young man named Justin is in love with a woman who is unexpectedly taken away by a demon. Justin summons a different Demon by the name of Lo in hopes of getting his girl back. This plot develops into a complex but very intriguing narrative with great acting and costumes, despite it's low budget. (The whole film takes place in one room). It's hard to explain, but there was something about Lo that I really loved. I guess it's the way that this movie really cared about it's characters. The characters were deep and well written. Really great movie.
