zachdonaldson This movie challenges the viewer to step out of their comfort zone and look into the deep and complex world of consumerism. It's a constant battle of consumerism and communism coming together to fight the common enemy of the gypsies. If you don't like this movie you also probably don't like puppies, vodka and the American dream. 10/10 any day , everyday.
lastliberal I don't have many expectations of a B movie, but this one took what seemed like forever to set up.William Cole (Bruce Campbell) is the Ugly American businessman with the unfaithful wife Jackie (Antoinette Byron) on a trip behind the Iron Curtain. He runs into a cab driver Yegor (Vladimir Kolev) with a jealous gypsy girlfriend Tatoya (Tamara Gorski) who kills all three.Enter mad scientist Dr. Ivanov (Stacy Keach), and his assistant Pavel (Ted Raimi), who replace the damaged part of Cole's brain with Yegor's. Now we have a competition between an uber Capitalist and a Communist playing out in his body.If that isn't far-fetched enough, they put Jackie's brain in a robot. This movie just kept getting crazier and crazier. Funny at times, but crazy.
turicsa What can i say, if you are going to watch this movie expecting a "serious" plot, or anything close to that, then this movie is clearly not for you.But if you'd like to see some kind of completely-bizarre-science fiction-soap-opera-comedy, with the (even more bizarre) acting of, Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi.... Then (AND ONLY THEN) you might enjoy this film.I sat to watch this movie with not very good expectations (at all), everyone told me it was garbage, even for a Bruce Campbell fan. They said it was boring, and i must say: the story doesn't have much to show us, but i didn't get bored, not for more than 5 minutes, and i mean it. Despite it's very very very weak plot, the movie is fun to watch and even some of the problems Bruce goes through (consequence of having half of his brain, and the other half from a Russian cab driver) are actually pretty funny. Anyway, when i finished watching the movie, i felt like i watched an ULTRA-BIZARRE-SOAP OPERA, "SOAP OPERA" being the key word here. Not Bruce's best movie (far from it), but all in all, it's OK.5/10 i don't know how to call this... i'll label it as WATCHABLE.
a.hamm While I don't consider myself a Bruce Campbell fan, I have enjoyed a number of his performances. My husband is a fan and I was delighted we had the opportunity to meet Bruce when he came to our city to preview this movie. Unnfortunately this movie is at the top of my worst movie list. I've been a fan of B-movies since childhood and the likes of the 50 Foot Woman, but this just didn't cut the mustard. The performances of Campbell, Raimi and Keach were good, but the rest was a big disappointment. I thought Bruce had hit bottom with Bubba-hotep, but you can certainly pat yourself on the back for setting a new low. For this I created my "D" movie list, which to date sport very few titles of which Campbell has the lead. Sorry Bruce, but it's just not "Them". I'd rather read your books and watch Brisco or Jack reruns. I even found more amusement during your infrequent Xena appearances. Now those shows were "B" -etter.
