Imdbidia I like Sandra Bullock. She can be really funny, and very charming in feel-good movies. Miss Congeniality was a guilty pleasure for me, and quite enjoyable, so I definitely wanted to watch this follow-up. Thank gosh I didn't go to the cinema, as I would have had a heart attack if I had paid for it. There are many reasons why this film was bound to disaster-land: 1- There are inconsistencies in the psychology of the main character. I mean, if you have seen the first movie, Detective Hart (Bullock) is like another person in her psyche and her being in this film. 2-Part of the success of the previous movie was the whole cast, the ensemble, bust most them are gone in this second part except for Shartner as Fields and Burns as Cheryl. 3- There is no compatibility or connection between Bullock and Regina King on camera, and since the story is so heavily focused on their relationship, well, this doesn't contribute to more laughs. 4- The movie tries too hard to make you laugh, so hard, that one gets a bit stiff. I found that some of the scenes might have been really hilarious if the right actors had been chosen for the film, or the right mood among the cast had existed. But it did not. Some of the actors do a great job in the film, it is a matter that they are not the ones carrying the weight of it.Sadly, the funniest thing to me were the credits with the bloopers of the actors in the film. I found those quite good.
Desertman84 Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous is a comedy that serves as a sequel to the 2000 film Miss Congeniality. It features Sandra Bullock together with Regina King,Enrique Murciano,William Shatner,Ernie Hudson,Heather Burns,Diedrich Bader and Treat Williams. Three weeks after the events of the first film, FBI agent Gracie Hart has become a celebrity after she infiltrated a beauty pageant on her last assignment. The FBI uses her notoriety to generate positive PR for the bureau; however, Gracie would like to get back to some solid police work, especially after scuffling with fellow female agent "Sam" Fuller, who isn't impressed with Gracie. Despite their differences, the two find themselves working side by side when two of Gracie's pals from the pageant -- contest winner Cheryl Frasier and master of ceremonies Stan Fields -- were kidnapped. After the viewer is presented with a charmer in the first film, the sequel just comes up with the same formulaic screenplay that basically worked in the original.Too bad that it does not provide anything new that what Sandra Bullock does in it has basically been presented in the previous film.Overall,it just lacks something new and everything becomes basically predictable from beginning to end.
Meta Pomeiske It's average. But a nice cast, considering the mediocre script. Quite a few giggles here and there. But the absolute highlight of this movie is the Dolly Parton running gag!!! I mean, Ms Parton is The Queen of Country, but nevertheless, she agrees to hilarious ....scenes.So happen in Joyful Noise, too!! I couldn't believe my eyes when Queen Latifah did THAT to Dolly!!! ;D Go check yourself if you are a fan of Dolly's.Anyways, LOL to Sandra Bullock's character and her fingers! ;) This really is a cracker and never gets old!Cheers for that, Ms Parton!
Jackson Booth-Millard The first film was likable funny, but this sequel from director John Pasquin (The Santa Clause) does not follow the same format in any way. Basically clumsy FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) is recognised during a big bust, as many people remember her saving the life of Cheryl Frasier (Heather Burns), working undercover at the Miss United States Pageant. She is asked by her boss FBI Asst. Director Harry McDonald (Ghostbusters' Ernie Hudson) to become the face of the FBI, giving a positive face, and promoting her book on TV. Gracie's friends Cheryl, and pageant host Stan Fields (William Shatner) are kidnapped in Las Vegas, but the FBI aren't taking Gracie seriously to let her investigate. Gracie follows many clues for her own investigation to find Cheryl and Stan, with her bodyguard Sam Fuller (Regina King) who for a while can't stand her. After a long while of fighting and bickering, Gracie and Sam do eventually make up and work together, and they are trying everything to go against their orders and find the kidnappers and their victims themselves. Also starring Treat Williams as FBI Asst. Director Walter Collins and Enrique Murciano as Jeff Foreman. I agree with critics, if it weren't for Bullock this film would be pretty much a complete waste of time, but it isn't, there are one or two good giggles to be liked. Okay!
