grahamsawicki During the interview at ~29 min, the lady was quoting the "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" as police sirens are blaring in the background.
The_Boxing_Cat I couldn't agree more about the terrible programming for children. But when the idiot said if the shooters of Columbine would have found one thing that they found was beautiful (something to that effect) then they would not have been able to commit the murders- REALLY??? Obviously, he doesn't know much about the real world. Psychopathic behavior, such as those two idiots, should not be carelessly referenced to as if they didn't get enough hugs. There's plenty of kids who never got hugged -they didn't go on a murderous rampage. Other than that, I enjoyed this documentary. Z3
kmaver Was Mister Rogers REALLY like that? You know, sweet, patient, and kind? Did he REALLY like you just the way you are? Apparently the answer is yes. He was. And he cared enough to hope that we would realize the people in our lives that we could be grateful for. There aren't very many real saints among us--people who are living, walking examples of the very best of humanity. Mister Rogers was one. This is a touching tribute to Mister Rogers, told by people to whom Fred Rogers was literally a neighbor. I hope that when I reach the end of my life, people can say I was even a fraction of the good person that Fred Rogers was. This movie is an inspiration. A delight. A warm place in my heart. Thank you MTV Vice President Benjamin Wagner (one of the lucky neighbors!) for making it.
Greg Hinson Benjamin Wagner briefly met Fred Rogers not long before his death and picked up a simple pearl of wisdom from him: "deep and simple is better than shallow and complex." He was so moved by the idea that, with his brother Chris' help, he decided to spread the word by making this simple, sweet film. This is not a biopic. You learn about Mr. Roger's life, but by interviewing people who knew him and worked with him, instead, what the Wagners have managed to do is to bring to life his ideas. This movie will make you try harder to be a better person, to understand the value of living in the moment, and of silence, and to live up the ideals of that man in the red cardigan. Find it!
