loomis78-815-989034 Don (Campbell) is a young music producer who thinks his friends band is about to become big. He plans a huge party to showcase the band in the upscale suburban neighborhood he lives in. The fun is quickly ruined as a disturbed woman (Olivo) enters his home and kidnaps him. Tied to an upstairs chair, the torture begins as The Girl begins a series of gruesome tortures to Don. When friends show up, she tortures and kills them too including Don's girlfriend Elizabeth (Rooney) in front of him. Don pleads to find out who this is and why she is doing it (the audience is asking the same questions) but other than she gets off on doing it we never find out. She exits the party after her 'work' and walks down the street apparently to do it again somewhere else. Torture porn, I guess I'll never understand it and why anyone would find it entertaining but that is my problem I guess. They keep being made and this one is as sick as any others with tons of gore and slow mutilation. The disturbing scenes would possibly entertain Sadists, but this dreary torture fest is depressing and is sure to make you feel bad afterward. America Olivo plays "The Girl" as she is known, with delightful glee and some people thought some of the dark humor was effective. OK, they must see something I didn't. The fact that we never get a clue as to why she is doing it makes this film even more depressing and dreadful than other torture porn outings.
westsideschl If a psychological, slightly bloody gore, thriller is on your menu then you will find your self tuning your head a few times in this one; unless you have an excessive amount of sadism in your genes. Somewhat close to "SAW" level for a, and you couldn't tell, low budget film. A slightly satirical and comedic portrayal of the neighbor you don't want to have. What makes this movie a little different than countless others? The script was creative and novel in that the victims all were likable and the killer had a unique darkly comedic personality and her methods were a bit unusual. The special effects (props, prosthetics) were first rate and you could see that the care they took in creating them was so realistic that even the actors were cringing when viewing the editing scenes. Kudos to Vincent Gugstini for his efforts. My only criticism here would be that the blood wasn't quite the right viscosity and color. What really carries the film is the acting by America Olivo (as the Neighbor) who created a unique character - maniacal and darkly diabolical yet insanely charming and comical. Hard to believe she's a classically trained singer. This neighbor is on the loose and I'm sure she show up in a sequel - perhaps in your neighborhood.
Vampire_Kitty A friend asked me if I wanted to see the worst movie ever made. I always want to see a really bad movie. He told me to check out this movie because it's really bad, so bad the guy who directed it put his name above the title insinuating it's good. Any movie that someone puts their name above the title is going to be a movie I want to see because either it's going to be really good or it's going to be so bad it's good. This was neither. It was awful. But not in a good way that you can laugh and be entertained but more in a "neighborhood kids make a video and make you watch it" kind of way. These aren't neighborhood kids but the neighborhood kids in my neighborhood could do a more professionally made movie than this. All this is is one torture scene after another. No story. No anything. Just torture. Even your fanboy gore fans would be bored here. It's just bad. Why someone thought two hours of people being tortured would be entertaining is beyond me. So why does the guy have his name in the title? He couldn't be proud of this. It's terrible. Maybe as a joke? If you want to see a torture porn movie, see Serbian film, Hostel or any number of other films that have come out the last couple years. If you want to just see a badly made torture video without an actual story, this would be what you should rent. I can't imagine a single person finding this entertaining and that goes for the people who made it. Even they had to be watching going "man, this sucks." I sure did.
patchworkmind This is by far, by leaps and bounds, and without question the worst movie I have ever had the misfortune to endure. (Note that I've seen well thousands of movies over the course of over forty years of movie-going.) Everything about it that counts is plainly and simply dreadful. The rest is just middling, not bad but not good, just kind of... there. None of the characters are likable or even interesting, not even the titular villain, and so there is no tension, none whatsoever in the whole thing. The villain's M.O. is the usual for torture porn, good old casual sadism. It's the writer/director's M.O. as well. He doesn't seem to care about his story or want us to care about it either. His name credited as the writer/producer/director (in flashing graphics, no less) is all he cared about. (He does it for the special features on the DVD, too.) This movie is so abominably bad it's insulting. The box art is the best thing about it.
