amesmonde Corpses reanimate after Pyrophobic mortician accidentally exposes hundreds of uncremated bodies to toxic medical waste. To director Jeff Broadstreet's credit he does manage to bag some great actors including Andrew Divoff and Jeffrey Combs in his prequel to his 2006 film. Here Divoff replaces Sid Haig, the 3D is as gimmicky Broadstreet's first offering. It shockingly tries to cash-in on the Re-Animator series as well as the Night of the Living Dead. The acting is slightly better thanks to Divoff and Combs. If you liked Night of the Living Dead 3D (2006) expect more of the same as Re-Animation is just as bad (or good depending on your opinion), for everyone else you may want to watch Re-Animator (1985) and Night of the Living Dead (1968) again.
arfdawg-1 After inheriting the family mortuary, a pyrophobic mortician accidentally exposes hundreds of un-cremated bodies to toxic medical waste. As the corpses re-animate, the mortician's inheritance-seeking younger brother unexpectedly shows up, stumbling upon a full zombie outbreak! Zombie outbreak? 3/4 through the film and nary a zombie. This has to be one of the worst zombie films I have ever seen. Next to nothing happens. It's not scary nor is it funnyI was looking forward to watching this movie. I wasted 90 minutes of my life. The budget was about ten cents. It's so bad when they have a scene of a cemetery, it's a slide!!!! They didn't even bother to shoot live.Don't expect special effects just talk talk talk for nearly the entire film. How it got a R rating is beyond me.
Allan Jensen I had heard much good about this movie; little was I aware that it was for the original. The new iteration of it is so poorly done; the acting is horrible, the story is drawn out way beyond reason, the special effects could have been done by elementary school children and overall it's 84 minutes of my life I could have spent better and far more enjoyable on painfully plucking my facial hair, DIY dental work or basically just about anything else. Matter of fact, I created an account on IMDb for one purpose - to write this review. You may ask why I gave the movie 2 stars? Well, the story in and of itself is good. It's just playing it out that just does not work. Steer clear!
broad-2 Saw this movie at a special screening in January on the big screen at a movie cinema in downtown L.A. and the 3D is amazing. I'm a big fan of Combs and Divoff (more Wishmasters, please!) and if you are too, you'll love this movie. They are GREAT and the rest of the cast is excellent as well. This has got to be some of the most excellent work that Herbert West and The Djinn have done in years. The special efx work is good too. Sure, it's low budget and the build-up is a little slow, but this is one of the best B movies I've seen in long time. This is not a Romero rip-off and stands on it's own. I'm a sucker for 3D moves (I see them all) and you will not be disappointed.
