kapelusznik18 ***SPOILERS***It took some two years after it was put in the can before this turkey was served via direct video on an unsuspecting public who are for the most part totally confused by it's message about the horrors of Covington Forest that its telling them. That has to do with a group of know it all but known nothing at all teens who plan to spend the night there and end getting swallowed up by it.Filmed in almost total darkness and with a confusing POV editing you get lost, like the teens, as soon as it starts with the teens freaking out for what seems like no reason at all but by not having the proper lighting, the movie-makers way of saving on the electric bill, to see their way out of the mess they find themselves in. One of the girls Nia, Chole Bridges, gets so scared of nothing really in particular that she turns into a mindless zombie for the entire movie just staring into space and not saying a single word. The leader of the group Robin, Shelby Young, is the only one that seems to be conscious of whats going on and for that is the one who ends up getting the business from whoever is pulling the strings behind the scenes.*****SPOILERS***** Incredible long for a short 85 minute movie it takes a lifetime for the sun to finally rise in Covington Forest for it to finally come to an end. Your not at all curtain who of the some half dozen teens survived and by then you just didn't really care. Like the saying goes they made their bed and ended up sleeping in it which was infested with a colony of bed bugs. As for who or whatever was haunting them it or he seems to have been up conjured by the frighten teens in trying to make their stay in the forest exciting but ended up getting the best of them in the end. About the only one who did survive and in tact was Karmer the teens pet dog who was far too intelligent and able to understand that the whole things, it their stay in the forest was a sick joke on the teens part and checked out, to the sane world, before the film was over.
lyecoatha I'm not a fan of the reality horror movies because the shaky camera makes me feel a little sick and irate but I didn't get that from this movie, when the person was still the camera was still which made this movie very watchable for me.It was late at night when I watched this so it was very spooky and I felt a little on edge so I suggest you watch it at night too.The movie is set in a forest (and I'm not fond of being surrounded by trees especially at night) where a group of teenagers go to a place that is renowned to be haunted. The movie is shown from the flashlights point of view. I really didn't expect much from this movie but its special effects were really good, very creepy and very scary. I watched this movie 3 times and my mother watched it twice and I didn't think she would even like it but she did and she wouldn't let me take the dog outside alone she had to come with me and keep watch. We live near the woods so that probably had something to do with it. Another thing i want to add is that I saw stuff that I missed the first and second times I watched this movie. Well I hope you enjoy watching this movie as much as I did.
Bradford Maxwell Looking for a movie that makes you jump or keeps you on your toes? Probably not going to find that here. Throughout the movie I found myself wondering "Why would you think that's the smart thing to do right now?". The countless cliché horror movie situations that occur are nearly as dense as the forest itself. That being said, I'm not entirely critical of the film. There's decent eye candy for a film with no nudity minus a shot of guy butt. It appears that the creator still took pride in the film as far as picture quality is concerned. Especially for a found footage flick. All of the other things aside, I find it a rare occurrence when I enjoy a movie about people being stalked in the woods and, at best, you only get a few half-second glimpses of the nemesis. Not enough to leave you with the haunting image. Just enough to allude to what might be going on. If you're a fan of the found footage genre then you could definitely make a worse selection. You could also make much better ones.
bbickley13-921-58664 Nice try guys, I'll always give that A for effort. The movie reminded me a lot of the Blair Witch project. It was very retro in it's whole found footage horror genre theme. Maybe because they did a lot with such a small crew of people. A group of white kids go into the woods, for what reason never matters, but horny whites under age 24 in the woods, always is a bad idea (should be a law against it.)Anyway, the movie did have suspense. Some of the suspenseful moments were great, they were killing me with it.The problem here was the scare, and when you're doing horror, that's an important problem. From the moment the first real scare went down I knew this movie was in trouble. I did not jump out of my seat once in the movie, not once. There were some eerie moments in the film but nothing really registered. It may have been how sloppy the whole story was put together. I never fully got the purpose of the game they were playing (maybe cause I never played it (maybe because I'm not stupid enough to go into the woods to play a stupid game)The girls in the movie were cute. That was a bonus, I found them pleasant to look at, but no one's persona was develop well enough to really care weather they lived or died. Also, the movie had too many false scares, and horror moments. It felt like they were trying to add more time to make what could have worked as a short, a feature movie, but all it did was make an hour and a half feel like twice as long.Once again, A for effort but will not recommend watching.
