Leofwine_draca FIRST CLASS FEAR is a ridiculous plane-based thriller that feels like one of those TV 'movies of the week'. It sees a bumbling heroine drawn into a ridiculous plot on board a Transatlantic flight and suffering from the usual problems, namely a lack of evidence and disbelief on the part of everybody else. The only way I could sit through this was to treat it as an unintentional comedy, because the plot is so very, very silly.Lead actress Lacey Chabert once found fame of sorts in MEAN GIRLS but nowadays is content to while away her days making TV movies. This film vaguely resembles the equally poor Jodie Foster film FLIGHTPLAN although it has an ending stolen from RED EYE. Supporting cast members include SAW's Betsy Russell and old timers Bo Svenson and Veronica Cartwright. The acting is wooden across the board (particularly in Russell's case) and the eventual solving of the mystery turns the whole thing into a laughing stock.
phd_travel This is a slightly comical airplane thriller. It's both deliberately and inadvertently funny almost laugh out loud so. Lacey Chabert stars as a publishing assistant in charge of a controversial manuscript. When bringing it with her on a flight to Europe she encounters some strange events and things and people go missing. Lacey is quite a good actress she just has to modulate her voice not to sound too silly. The head stewardess is hilarious. Things are quite neatly done as you can expect. Worth one watch. Not bad for a lightweight lifetime thriller. This movie has the same name as the subsequent Liam Neeson big budget thriller that came out last year.
Geeky Randy If you're one of those people who loves to have 90 minutes (120 minutes with commercials) of their life completely wasted, you HAVE to see NON-STOP; another terrible Lifetime thriller that passes as close to a watchable movie as ground beef does to sirloin. A heartbroken and annoyingly anxious woman (overacted by the unconvincing Chabert) has a mile-high temptation with a stranger, who… you guessed it… is a complete psycho—what else did you expect?, after all, this is a Lifetime movie. What's even worse than this moronic plot are the characters' inexplicable actions, leaving the viewing thinking (or even saying) "This would never happen!"—case in point, the 9-1-1 dispatcher would NEVER get off the line with the caller. If you decided to spend four straight hours staring at a concrete wall, you'd probably find your time more fulfilling than if you wasted less than half that time on this "movie".* (out of four)
billsoccer So many improbable plot twists you'll be amazed! That said, I stayed until the end!! The lead actress Lacey Chabert could be Sarah Michelle Gellers sister. She plays an administrative assistant who is sent on an overseas flight for some unknown nefarious reason. Even as she boards, she's thrown into a series of events that wouldn't happen in real life: The bitchy stewardess and overly helpful new steward, both of whom share info no person fearing for their job would; The pushy new-ager; The even pushier drug salesman! The guy who makes (successful) advances on her!! The overly interested Interpol agent. I'm not sure why they let the writer throw so many people at the heroine, most of whom any normal person would have avoided after the first contact! And I didn't mention them all, nor the list of improbable events (she gets into the pilot's cabin - post 9/11?? The police not locking down the plane and losing the 2nd hijacker?). As I said, i stayed and watched the end - surprisingly - and was entertained by Ms Chaberts performance, and, well, the plot(s)!
