Alice C Started out okay but about 20 minutes in became a long involved not so fun exploration. Not very thrilling. What am I watching and why. Waste of an hour and 40 minutes following who is chasing who for ineffective twists that don't work well. Reality meets the web or whatever and real life consequences don't really matter.
Wizard-8 In yet another case of filmmaking coincidence, "Open Windows" shares the same idea as another movie made around the same time ("Unfriended") - that idea being a "live" (or "real time") movie seen almost entirely through computer screens. This effort goes a step further by eventually getting the characters out and moving around, which I admit does help prevent the movie from getting tedious. There are certainly some creepy and suspenseful moments, though I have to admit I found them mostly in the first half of the movie. Eventually, the movie gets really hard to swallow, with some really unbelievable revelations and actions by the various characters. And when you start to think about the movie after watching it, you'll be able to realize some additional plot holes. Also, the French accents of several characters are so thick that their dialogue is really hard to make up at times. Despite these problems, I admit that I was never bored by the movie, but all the same I felt unsatisfied at its end. "Unfriended" did it better despite being cheaper and less elaborate.
subxerogravity I thought the movie unfriended did this premise better. the whole movie basically takes place online as a super fan thinks he wins a contest to meet his favorite scream queen only for her to bail out, but a mysterious online presence gives him an alternative to the prize that turned out not to be so cool. It's another case of a filmmaker biting off more than they could chew. In all fairness, it is one of the most unique movie concepts I've seen in years, and with that originality it can be hard to form a good narrative. My issue is that they had too many plots and twist that made the movie run too long for the story they wanted to tell. they already has a imaginative way of telling the story, there was no need to add a butch of different things to it. I thought Sasha Grey was great in it, and I love the fact that Elijah Wood shows his love for the material, by not only producing it though his company, but stars in it. It is worth seeing just to watch the movement of the camera thought the computer screens, but it does get long after a while.
constantinokv The best will be after 10 minutes of the film, kept me intrigued throughout time. Made her best performance Jill. With eyes Elija Wood all is triller!. :).The movie don't show porn, please only see if you like triller. In part the movie show does what technology should uses in future for spy us. Is possible now and cameras spy's all is possible apply the movie in real life. With NSA, and revelation Snowden about possibilities technology. All is possible.Excellent screenplay and direction of Nacho Vigalondo for put intrigued in all movie =).
