adonis98-743-186503 Jesse begins experiencing a number of disturbing and unexplainable things after the death of his neighbor. As he investigates, it isn't long before Jesse finds he's been marked for possession by a malevolent demonic entity, and it's only a matter of time before he is completely under its control. It's far from a masterpiece and it definitely has it's problems for sure but like someone else said the film's ending was pretty damn creepy to say the least (especially the final shot of the movie). The next installment unfortunately was meant to suck. (6.3/10)
longjohnslass I'm a very easy person to scare with this sort of thing, and I like to give movies as much credit as possible, even when they're not great. It's not horrible, but I was disappointed. It takes next to nothing to make me jump, but this didn't make me jump even once I'm sad to say. The acting was alright, and the different setting was a nice change of pace. But I feel like this should have been its own thing and not a sequel. There was little to no suspense build-up in my opinion (not to say they didn't try, but I don't think they pulled it off) so there wasn't much feeling of threat. *shrug* I don't know, I don't pretend to be any kind of expert critic of anything, but I'd say this was good for background at best :(
Owen Gonzales I was really expecting something good because I have been looking forward t watching this series of movies, to bad I didn't look at the reviews before hand. The movie is about a kid named Jess who gets possessed by a demon and eventually tries to get it out. The movie didn't even try to be creative. Oh hector is going for a close up with the camera toward a window of course a person is going to slam their face against it. Oh hector and Jesse are looking for Oscar, then Oscar falls onto a car next to them. And of course when you look in a scary basement you have to have the 2 scary blacked eyed girls behind a curtain when looking. Also the ending didn't make any sense, hector encountered a woman who started yelling matic, then she rushed him With a knife, a man runs down the stairs and try's to help her but he gets in a fight with her. Then to top it all of hector runs away opens a door, some type of monster humans jumps him, his camera falls to the ground then a couple seconds later a strange woman turns of the camera. What I am saying is that there are many more examples of the movie being predictable, if you would watch it you would know. The only reason is that I didn't rate this movie lower is because their where some funny parts that were meant to be funny then parts that where funny, but not meant to be funny. Like a funny part that was not meant to be funny was when Jesse was possessed by a demon and had the little dog shoved on the feeling running on its side. Anyway I knew that they could have done a much better job because oculus had the same budget and they made a master piece. Only watch this movie for comedic value or something to laugh at.
fuh039 Before I start my review of the Marked One's, let me give you a quick review of mine on the previous Paranormal Activity movies.Paranormal Activity: Good. Paranormal Activity 2: Loved it, perhaps the only logical and smartest characters in the franchise. Paranormal Activity 3: It was okay. Paranormal Activity 4: Meh...Now what do I think about the Marked One's? THIS MOVIES IS A**! I will give props to the acting because these people do look like they're giving it their all.But the whole movie is filled with predictable scares that we have seen in the previous Paranormal Activity movies. Nothing is absolutely new, all the elements and scares are being recycled.I do like the setting where this movie is taking place. Sort of like the hood/ghetto, where a couple of gangs hang out.The characters in this movie are absolutely dumb, by far the dumbest in the series. For example, Jess's down stare neighbor got murdered and his idea is to go down there with his best friend and investigate what happened, and to find "clues." You know what they do when they're down there? They touch everything that is in the crime scene, they are literally printing their fingerprints! Bunch of idiots! Also, they meet these two girls and they decide to do a little "business" with them at Jess's apartment. But his grandma is at the front of the door and they can't get pass her. So what do they do? Do they go back to the car and "do it" there or do they go to one of the ladies house. NO! They decide to use the apartment where the lady got murdered!Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones isn't even scary. It's filled with a lot of clichés with dumb characters.2/10
