This small French thriller has somehow not been recognized for what it is: A superb romantic thriller with a ticking "clock" that will keep you on the edge of your couch or chair since it's long gone from whatever theatrical release it got in USA. It's as good as 95% of the studio "thrillers" released the past 10-20 years with big names attached. One becomes jaded with the excessive CGI and loud sound tracks and remakes we get fed every year. So when something original, not over the top but steeped in story and simplicity arrives...Well then count our lucky stars. It's a rare treat. Go find this gem (Neflix is streaming it) and see what film making is all about: writing, casting, production values and DIRECTING!

point blank doesn't have very deep characters (but still it's amazing how the dramatic scenes work) , nor a huge complex plot, and it's not about metaphors or cultural references. It's a fast paced action ride, that changes all the time, that knows very well how to manage their timings in the scenes. It's really a cool action flick, and you realize how short it is when it ends. It was conceived as a thrill fun, short ride, an after that you just take a deep breath, because you saw people running during the 80 minutes. It's not the most amazing film ever, but if you look for a nice film keeping you on the edge of the seat, this is widely recommended.

Samuel Pierret is a nursing assistant who saves the wrong guy -- a thief whose henchmen take Samuel's pregnant wife hostage to force him to spring their boss from the hospital.A race through the subways and streets of Paris ensues, and the body count rises. Can Samuel evade the cops and the criminal underground and deliver his beloved to safety?......at just nearly ninety minutes long, this movie doesn't give you time to catch your breath. It's as if someone has been watching those ever increasingly silly Besson produced movies, and made it realistic and plausible. It's shot well, and the cast are magnificent in their respective roles. It never gets boring, and the short running time time doesn't leave the narrative redundant. And despite the many plot twists, it's rich in its storytelling.Forget Taken 2, and see this, you'll thank yourself.
