I need to confess, that i got to this movie, because of the new Scream series. John Karna played a nerd in that serial, and i just checked his other movies, then i found this and watched the trailer. And i was like this is the same idea, as was in the Groundhog day, but i am also a young man, and i like this guy as well, lets see what they get from the original idea. And it was nearly as good as i expected. I gave 7 points, but only because i gave 8 to Groundhog day, and because of the "copying" of the idea i "only" gave 7. But it i have to admit i really enjoyed it. Maybe it could be a good date movie as well. The only thing i would also advise, to not watch it with your parents... It could get really awkward... :D

This "Groundhog Day" movie with a perverted twist was actually a funny movie, even though it was intended for a young adult audience. But for a college comedy then "Premature" was actually a nice take on the genre. The story is about teenager Rob who is reliving the same day over and over. Struggling to figure out what is going on, Rob tries to change events in order to escape the repetitive day. There is a lot of hilarious situations and moments throughout the movie, and you will find yourself laughing, I guarantee. The absurdity and extreme things that happen are what makes this movie work so well. The acting in "Premature" was good, and lead actor John Karna carried the movie quite nicely. And it was a treat to see Alan Tudyk in the movie as well."Premature" was a nice surprise of a comedy and it is quite worth watching, especially if you enjoy the teenage comedy genre.

Every movie is it's own in many unique ways & so I don't usually compare them. But, this is similar to About Time (Rachel McAdams), Groundhog Day (Bill Murray) & Edge of Tomorrow (Tom Cruise) in that the characters are given the highly frustrating opportunity to relive a certain day over & over until they discover the reason why. This movie has a definite sexual twist but not graphic. There is one scene in the beginning of a female's breasts. There are some excellent quotes. One I can't resist sharing, is when the main character tells his sexually advanced buddy he needs him to teach him everything he knows about sex. The friend relishes this opportunity & draws an extremely intricate & accurate diagram of the female vagina. To which the friend exclaims, "My God! It's like the Bill Belichick of human organs!" The characters are all very funny in their own ways, a young brainiac, a sexually active cheerleader-type, school, the girl next door, the loyal best friend, the parents concerned with college, a college interviewer, volleyball jocks, a hot teacher, a school administrator who relates too well to students, a creepy janitor who sells drugs, a mom horrified with her son's sexual awakening. The character, as in the movies before him, must figure out why he keeps reliving this day & along the way he is able to humorously anticipate events & make subtle & not-so-subtle adjustments, dismayed that no matter what, he will have to have to do it all over again. I was surprisingly entertained at this funny movie that delivered a quality movie experience despite possessing a general predictability. But, how he gets to the predictable ending is original & doesn't take away from the movie. I recommend it for a good time coming-of-age movie about high school seniors top concern, sex. I rate it a 6.5/10 stars which translates to a fair IMDb rating of 7/10 stars. A good comedy to get a weekend off to a fun start.Knox D. Alford, III

Premature is a 2014 film directed by Dan Beers, with great performance by Alan Tudyk as supporting actor and with Katie Findlay, a young, charismatic Canadian actress that I've see previously in the movie The Philosophers, 2014, sharing starring roles with John Karna. The Welsh and talented Craig Roberts also appears in a supporting role. The movie is very acceptable, it is a much better movie, in my humble opinion than The Breakfast Club or Karate Kid if we want to talk about coming of age movies, It is not La vie d'Adele obviously because this a comedy, but an entertaining one. The premise of the movie, unfortunately, is an absolute copy cat of the enormous classic "Groundhog Day". A day that repeats itself mysteriously, for a virgin teenager in this case who is struggling to have his life back to normal and trying in the process to lose his virginity. Recommendable
