vishnu-dileep08 Summary (no spoilers)This movie is about a computer hacker who accidentally sends a mysterious wireless signal and then a group of friends get together to stop an evil from taking over the world. My Review (no spoilers)The plot of this movie was extremely bad most of it does not make any sense I know Sci-fi movies usually don't but they have to bring up an logical idea to make the viewer's think " hah this can happen or what if it happens". It had very little horror scenes here and there Sci- fi and thriller not so much. I felt this movie was insanely rushed too. I stumbled upon to know that this movie was a remake of a Japanese movie. No notable acting did not get time to notice them while trying to figure out this movie. The ending was not predictable but it was boring. Was really happy that it got over.My Recommendation No please stay away from this movie don't make the mistake that I did.My Rating 0/10
GL84 After the death of a friend, a group of college friends find themselves the targets of ghostly beings spread over the internet by logging onto a computer system and must try to survive the freed hordes. This was quite a bland and dull remake. Among the many flaws here is that what happens for the most part simply isn't scary as this one goes against so many different tactics that it never gives off any kind of creepy feeling. This starts with the ghosts themselves, as there's nothing here about what they are, where they came from or even the purpose behind their appearance here which really leaves just an endless series of questions about them. There's only one real piece of information given to this series of creatures about being able to exist on broadbands and wave-lengths emitted from most of modern technology, but that's all we get here as far as going out to mention what they are or tormenting the people here. It's so light on explanations that even that factor alone is given with nearly ten minutes or so left in the film, and it really makes the film really lame by being so unwilling to reveal the truth about its main threat which is needed to score fear against them. It doesn't matter much as the computer-static blue that represents the ghostly figures in the few scenes they're on-screen isn't all that terrifying anyway so the physical appearance doesn't matter much and the explanations are a non-factor which makes the ghosts overall a total sour point. Thais leads into the fact that there's hardly any attacks here which makes this one feel so drawn-out and overlong when it doesn't need to as well as keeping this one focused on areas that don't generate anything as this is mostly focused on an investigation into their friends' behavior and the origins of the beings that turn up nothing so there's simply nothing to these scenes as they just tend to focus on these useless scenes. The last flaw to hold this one down is the bland gray-coloring that flows throughout the film, making for a truly tough time here since that makes this one almost impossible to really get into as it causes this to be bland unappealing and really impossible to watch. That's' more than damaging enough to lower this one, though amidst all this there's a few enjoyable moments. These are deviated entirely around the few ghostly encounters here, from the opening in the library to the startling Laundromat attack and the apartment encounter where the disappear into ash though the big scene here is undoubtedly the final attack in the computer lab where the ghosts are finally freaky-looking in their numbers, the action works and overall the scene is impressive and freaky. Otherwise, there's not much at all to this one.Rated PG-13: Language and Mild Violence.
bowmanblue If you check out other reviews for the U.S. remake of the Japanese horror film 'Pulse' you'll see that the majority of people hated it. And I can see why. The first time I watched it I wasn't interested to begin with. It came across as your regular slasher film, only with computer ghosts stalking and killing teenagers instead of a physical killer. Then there were the - obvious - similarities to the (far superior) Ring. However, I thought it actually picked up a bit of pace in the second half. Once the more 'apocalyptic' side of the story takes over then there are a few nice moments. If you have high expectations for this film, then you'll definitely hate it. However, if you're just looking for a (slightly) better than average horror flick then give it a go. Acting - average. Plot - average. Special effects - average. Yet, somehow, if you're in the right mood, you may give it that extra 'mark' to turn its rating from a 6 to a 7/10.
zfiany The movie has similarities in many things with "One Missed Call" & "Fear dot com". But I need to give it to the movie that when you watch it, you definitely get hooked though you know what the ending will be and you can predict how the whole thing would go. There is no smart plot, the idea has been consumed already and the horror scenes are not scary at all! There are stupid scenes as well like when they try to reach the server at the end to stop the virus, they manage to walk through thousands of ghosts and nothing happens to them! Then she proceeds alone as Dexter fails to follow her and you logically suppose afterwards that he won't make it but miraculously he does! This is just stupid!
