biggman100 Since most of the reviews on here are about how bad it is, i wont add to that. I will however try and correct a mistake i made in the connections tab. The first one says that there is a tie in in the flashback scene, to the movie days of thunder. This is incorrect in that the car Cole Trickle drove in days of thunder was the red (almost pink) and white #46 superflo Chevy, not a blue and white #66 superflo Chevy. I have models and die casts of every car from that movie, as well as several dozen match boxes. Cole Trickle only drove the #46 superflo car, and the #46 city Chevy cars in that film. And i thought Days of Thunder was a much better movie than this one.
p-stepien Private racing is an expensive hobby for millionaires with money to burn. Amongst them rapper Infamous (Eddie Griffin), illegal arms dealer Michael (Angus Macfadyen) and Hollywood producer Jerry Brecken (Tim Matheson). Given the suitcases of money involved they need the best drivers to indulge into their pass-time. Amongst them is playboy Jason (Jesse Johnson), who works for his uncle Michael. His brother and an Iraq war vet Carlo (Nathan Phillips) is vehemently opposed to Jason being involved with such a ruthless criminal, but despite that backs him in his racing endeavours. Meanwhile a fortnight before a big race Infamous loses his best driver, who is busted by cops during an illegal daytime street race (stupido!). Devoid of options he tries to hire the leg-flashing cleavage-loving Natasha (Nadia Bjorlin), an aspiring musician, car workshop owner and at the same time the daughter of former racer extraordinaire. Natasha declines given how her father lost his life on the race track. And so...It is sometimes extremely hard to actually comment a movie of this type. I knew nothing about the movie beforehand, so after the first few scenes, I was expecting a low-budget racing movie with B-class acting and script. It turns out I wasn't exactly wrong, apart from the glaring fact that the money put into this movie was anything but 'low'. "Redline" can be easily described by one word: excess. An excess of everything possible. Leggy barely-dressed bum-shaking (and apparently promiscuous) girls (short skirts, lingerie and ultra short shorts are a must). Flashy expensive cars. Reckless driving and endangerment of life for a whim. Bags of money. Chic clothes. Alcohol. Barrages of music (mostly hip-hop). Testeterone driven fights. As well as cheap one-liners, cardboard characterisations, barely logical script and amateurish acting. If all you need is legs and backsides galore, motors revving and people splashing the cash feel free to indulge. Apart from the decent performances by the trio of richie riches there is nothing real worth to note in this picture. Even more so that the editing behind some of the race scenes make your eyes sore and are hard to follow. Instead of some emotionally driven races we have a lot of cool guys spectacularly crashing cars worth millions of dollars...I can't say how happy I am that the producer of this movie got hit hard by the flop. The amount of money burned on this craptastic flick is embarrassing.
doug-benet Yeah indeed a great movie to learn from the mistake of others. What a waste of money on unneeded FX. I felt sorry for the cars that were used in such crappy production and they actually crash a Ferrari Enzo. Im glad that they didn't put their hands on a Bugatti. The movie is full of crappy catch lines from the result of the stereotyped world created surrounding cars, girls, money and fame. The photography department does a great job. The fighting sequence is terribly executed. The C list actors sucks and none of them are good looking, the main actress looks like she retired from the porn business and now wants some of the Hollywood action - whats wrong with her eyebrows? - I guess the only good actor is the pimp at least he shows some character.
qormi This "film" is the worst movie I have ever seen. The worst. Ever. The dialogue makes Annette Funicello movies seem like Shakespeare. The action is so phony as to be reprehensible. The car "races" are nothing more than two-second clips spliced together so that it is impossible to comprehend. The fight sequences are a series of unrelated two second clips of people bouncing off walls or falling. The plot is indistinguishable. It seems like some hot chick with engineered boobs and a fake all over tan likes a war hero guy who is violent and has no looks or personality. Then, there's the war hero's brother, who dresses like a flamboyant fop circa 1967. Then, there's their uncle,, who is a fat slob and wants to marry the hot chick. Then, there's Eddie Griffin, whose dialogue seems also to be edited in unrelated two second clips. I seriously doubt that a movie has ever been or could ever be worse than this mess. I fell asleep twice during this sleep-inducing bore fest,, but I rewound it and forced myself to watch it, if only to document just how messed up a movie can be.
